Stories have been swirling around regarding plans to sell Stan James plc as a result of the upcoming UK point-of-consumption regulatory and taxation regulation have been addressed by the company.
On Tuesday, Chief executive officer Denis Kelly said, "We were surprised at the article published by the EGR as it is not accurate.
"Yes, there have been redundancies. We have reduced the Product team by four, with the expectation to open up two more appropriate vacancies presently. This was in preparation for nothing other than the business requirements in creating efficiencies within our cost base, having agreed our development road map and investment for at least the next twelve months.
"To address the speculation on whether or not Stan James is for sale, it would be madness to suggest that there wasn't a price point 'somewhere' as there is with absolutely any business you can think of.
"However, there is no 'for sale' sign outside the door and we intend to face any challenges presented by the POC tax head on, while we continue to grow the brand."

I guess maybe you don't want to say if you are one of those affiliates, plus you a more player orientated site anyway - perhaps many readers wouldn't be interested; I for one though like to reserve my spending power for brands who hold...

There are rumors saying their online operation is underfunded , hence why they had to lay off a lot of staff, and also why they have been refusing to pay some affiliates quoting ridiculous and predatory T&Cs.

What on earth?! Surely the new regulations cannot possibly cause a problem for a brand as large as Stan James? I had understood they had a large presence in some areas of the UK with retail outlets and the like, the rest of those businesses are currently doing extremely well. Worst still, Stan James is a really excellent online casino and the only major UK brand still offering microgaming poker apart from 32red. I certainly hope they stick around for the foreseeable!
