Merger of Bally Technologies with Scientific Games Approved

The Nevada Gaming Commission has given its stamp of approval for the merger of Bally Technologies with Scientific Games.

The Commission's approval was the last regulatory requirement needed to finalize the merger.

Scientific Games announced Thursday that the deal will be completed as of November 21, 2014.

"We are pleased to have received unanimous approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission, and we thank the Commission, the Nevada Gaming Control Board and its staff for their diligence in reviewing the transaction," said Gavin Isaacs, president and chief executive officer of Scientific Games.

I like Bally's slot games, and they definitely have an enviable presence in the american marketplace - particularly with land based slot macines and games, where Bally, IGT, and Williams (WMS) are sharing a very large percentage of the marketplace. I know nothing about Scientific Games, so I'd wager they are the ones who stand to gain from this merger.

Well this is an interesting article. Now that this merger is pretty much completed. What exactly does this mean? Where does this bring Bally;s and what are they going to do with it? This is going to be very interesting to see.
