Russians Fine Google for Online Casino Advert Mishap

Russians Fine Google for Online Casino Advert Mishap Russia’s Federal Anti-Monopoly Service illegal gambling adverts slipped through the cracks and they’ve fined Google "$1.6 thousand" as a result.

The Anti-Monopoly Service described the error as “...the distribution of gambling, their organizers and related services in the Google search engine on the territory of the Russian Federation”.

Earlier in the month, the service noted that it had found illegal online casino adverts on Google and the regulator has warned Google and its Russia-registered branch to address the violations.
  • Super LOL indeed, someone ought to tell these people that google are a billion dollar company and fining them the equivalant of a couple of new keyboards for their office workers isnt really going to make them all that fussed about breaking these rules again in the future...
  • I think Google is getting away easy. With all their money, Google doesn't need to take in a few illegal casino dollars. I also doesn't understand why Russia is not trying to sue the pants off Google because if anyone needs money, Russia does. Any way, way to go Russia.
  • Is that a fine? "$1.6 thousand" Wow..they should have finned Google for more than that, far more, millions! How can someone get away with a small fine like that..strange world, stranger times!
  • Thats good work of Russia's Federal Anti-Monopoly service for sure! Why somebody gets a lot of money with fake casinos? But they should fine them for a bit more. Thats just one thing that they found, what about others? hm
