Borgata Atlantic City to Host Basketball Tournament

Borgata Atlantic City is preparing to introduce a brand new skill-based tournament after receiving the approval from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

The basketball tournament offers a buy-in of $20 in 90-second rounds where players will shoot baskets for free to win the prize pool made up of the buy-ins.

The top four players will get a share of $10,000, with $5,000 to the winner, who will win based on shooting skill alone.

The tournament is to take place in March and Borgata management already has plans for another run of it should it be a successful event.

Well. has to say that this idea is really inovative and nice and I would like to try my luck there also. This is fun, fair and attractive chance to get some extra money for minimum investment of 20 dollars. People will compete between, not against slot machines, where the results always on house side.

Nice idea, I wondered what on earth was going on when I saw the headline - why on earth are they playing basketball at a casino?! Only problem I can see is that there's bound to be a bunch of amateur or better players show up hoping to take down the prize fund and I cant see any obvious way of preventing that, so your average playing-for-fun guy who just happens to be at the casino that day won't stand a great chance will they?

Sound very interesting this basketball tournament and maybe the most important thing is that people can rely on their skills too not only to their luck. There is a decent prizes for the winners too which can make that experience extremely pleasant. I think this idea will be a successful one.

It really does seem like a good idea. People, other than just gamblers will surely take part in this type of tournament. I wonder if it will be televised? The one thing that I read that will/could make this interesting is that professionals, like they said in the article I read, " LeBron James of the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers could enter." So if professionals can enter, now that will make things very interesting. We may even see a few up and coming basketball players in the making at these tournaments. It may be a good idea to send a few scouts to keep an eye on new talent that maybe competing for the grand prize. Maybe even someone better than LeBron James.

Well, this is actually very good idea from them. People will have fun, and also will have a chance to make some money. When you play slots, in question is how much you will have luck, but when you need to shoot some baskets to get the money, there is not just luck, you have to have some skills too.
