GVC Looking to Acquire “Something Like” bwin.party

A Reuters article was published regarding acquisition talks GVC Holdings Plc is having with undisclosed parties that are “something like” bwin.party Digital Entertainment according to chief executive Kenneth Alexander.

GVC has its eye on deals that could affect the company "the same way Sportingbet did in 2013,” Alexander told Reuters on Monday.

The purchase of Sportingbet for around GBP 31 million pounds now accounts for more than 50 percent of GVC’s profits.

The Reuters article is available in its entirety here.

Seems like it will be another great deal for GVC, similar to that in 2013 when they've acquired Sportingbet. Probably the best spent 31 million pounds ever! By the way it seems a little low amount for a huge company like Sportingbet but GVC have to be very happy now when they accounts more than 50 percent of theirs profits.

If this deal actually goes through then I sincerely hope GVC make changes in a few key areas, like customer service and promotions. Unfortunately bwin opted to continue with the Party model instead of their own, which was far better in my opinion, and I haven't played there in ages as a result.

I wish them the best of luck. If this new acquisition becomes a reality and it is just half as profitable as acquiring Sportingbet, they can say they've done it again. Acquiring Sportingbet was a big deal that became a big deal. I can understand why GVC is trying to keep it hush, hush.

I did a little work for Sporting Bet when they were in their infancy sometime around 2009 so its fascinating to see them with such a crazy value on their heads mentioned within this article. Makes me wish I'd stayed around on that contract!!!
