Indonesian police have shut down illegal online gambling operations having blocked 360 sites operated from Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand.
“We are working together with the Communications Ministry in blocking the sites,” Brig. Gen. Viktor Simandjuntak, director of the National Police’s special crimes unit said.
The illegal sites were tied to 160 bank accounts in Indonesia believed to be used for gambling purposes. Police are currently working alongside Indonesia’s Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) to locate the owners of the accounts.
“We will summon the owners of the bank accounts. If no one comes forward to claim responsibility for the bank accounts, the state will confiscate the funds in the accounts in line with Supreme Court rulings,” said a police spokesman.

It's enormous number of illegal gambling sites and Indonesia also involved with 160 bank accounts. Obviously in this part of the world the illegal gambling is spread everywhere but the authorities in the respective countries doing a great job to stop illegal operators by blocking their sites. Bur I'm sure that they are many others in Asia who still operate.

Yea advoghado, I agree with everything you said, but they don't have to be doing the money laundering, etc, they probably are not licensed. Becoming a legal online gambling site is not an inexpensive venture, just like most legal businesses. With all the free publicity that illegal sites seem to be getting from their countries police, you gotta be pretty gutsy these days to try it. I know that the legal online gambling sites are grateful that these countries continue to crack (no pun intended) down on illegal gambling operations. We too should be grateful that there are fewer and fewer of these illegal sites available for us to get cheated out of our hard earned money. I say good going and good riddens to all.............

At first this can be bad news, but I think really what the Department of Indonesian Police are hunting, is only the sites that act in an illegal way, ie using the gambling sites to hide some form of illegal, or even money laundering, the gaming sites that are regulated and work within the law of the country, has nothing...
