Ladbrokes stakeholder, billionaire Dermot Desmond, expressed his opposition of the GBP 2 billion merger between Ladbrokes and Coral in a letter to investors saying it would “effectively be the death of Ladbrokes” as an independent company.
Desmond is encouraging other Ladbrokes shareholders to request that the board look into other options before agreeing to the deal.
Ladbrokes said, “We have had significant dealings with Mr. Desmond as both a shareholder and a commercial partner over recent times.
We note his views and are not surprised by them as he has been in extensive dialogue with the management team and not been afraid to talk of undertaking such action.”

I think Ladbrokes is just fine as it is. They are already a big company, but they are managed in a superb manner from my perspective. I used to play a lot with them before they gave up their Danish license and I miss them. They were reliable with cashouts, excellent at customer service, had great bonuses with fair conditions and the software functioned without problems. I don't know how they could improve on all that I experienced when I played with them. Only 32Red casino was a little better but not by much. Maybe if they merge with Coral they will come back to Denmark, one can only hope.

Apparently they are trying to create the biggest bookmaker in the UK and of course there could be some resistance as the article implide. I don't know if being so big is such a good idea. Once I had big fight about a bet which I have placed on a big platform and the platform had no idea if I was right or wrong because the tittle bookmaker had marked my bet as lost. There I understood the entire problem with platforms and a number of little bookmakers under the same roof. According to the information of the big platform I had won but according to the little bookmaker I had lost. Pretty crazy world because my bet was concerning some game in the remote part of the world and it was hard to proof my point. Getting bigger is not necesseraly a good thing, if it cames to bookmaking, this was my experience.
