Back NYX Announces Acquisition of Side City

NYX Gaming Group announced its acquisition of Montréal-based Side City development studio via its subsidiary, NYX Digital Gaming (Alberta) Inc. paying a price tag of 333,000 in ordinary shares of NYX and CAD $4 million based on Side City’s ability to meet performance targets in 2016 and 2017.

Side City studios develops games with a focus on design, production and programming of both online and land based products mainly with a primary focus on the land based casino industry.

NYX said that the acquisition fits in with its plans to expand into the Montréal market.

"Side City is another example of NYX's ability to identify and execute on investments that fit into the global content strategy of the company,” said, Matt Davey, Chief Executive Officer, NYX Gaming Group.

“Further, Side City gives us unique content for the North American market that complements our existing North American business and gives us an entry point to the United States land-based market with existing customer relationships."

NYX Gaming is at the center of industry news these days with various partnerships and content deals to provide gaming content via its OGS and CGS platforms. Most recently, NYX entered into a partnership agreement with 888 Holdings for the provision of its portfolio of games, which includes products from NextGen, Amaya, Aristocrat, iGaming2go, Elk Studios, 1x2gaming, Thunderkick, High 5 Games, Nektan, Casino Technology, Realistic, Ainsworth, Lightningbox Games, Chance Interactive and Big Time Gaming. The content will be available on 888’s online bingo and casino brands as well as its Dragonfish platform.
