A small game developer and platform provider catering the UK and international markets, Spike Games, has scored a licensing deal to create a new HTML5 game based on Alice Cooper with the use of his 1972 hit “School’s Out” called “School’s Out for Summer”.
The company was founded by Rob Anderson, who previously worked as Games Design Manager at Mazooma Games and later founded Cometa Games and AlchemyBet software, which is now distributed via Spike Games.
Regarding Alice Cooper and his music, Anderson said, “I love everything about this song. Alice Cooper is a huge deal worldwide, he’s as popular in China as he is in his home town. What attracted us most was how visually stunning Alice Cooper is. Everyone instantly knows the band when they see the famous one of a kind Alice Cooper makeup. School’s out as a song has a timeless chorus and guitar riffs known by everyone young and old.”
Alice Cooper’s merchandiser and licensing agent, Global merchandising Services, said: “We love the team at Spike Games and their whole approach to the Alice Cooper brand. Rob’s knowledge and experience in slot game design stretches back 25 years and the quality of Spike Games product speaks for itself.”
Spike Games has created its own Remote Gaming Server known as SpikeRGS. Current games within its portfolio include Viperactive, Plunderful, Hickory, Shamrock – Shuffle, Creepy Cash and Candy Cash.
The new game will be available sometime this quarter for mobile, tablet and desktop formats.
