It might surprise you to know that South Africans are passionate sports addicts, especially when it comes to cricket, rugby and soccer. They even hosted the FIFA World Cup in 2010 which is certainly going to be remembered after the piercing noise of Vuvuzela – a plastic horn with loud monotone sound.
Of course, there are other sports in South Africa whose growing popularity has led Springbok’s content team to pay tribute to them by putting together an exciting collection of stories and videos. Little is known that the residents of Zuid-Afrika are also very much into tennis, cycling and increasingly popular – surfing!
The Big 3
Even though rugby represents the country’s number one sport, whose national team players are known under the nickname, Springboks, cricket and soccer are still a personal favorite of many residents.
Introduced by the British and popularized by a huge number of players during the last century, cricket has become the second-most beloved game in the country. Today, South Africa plays a huge role in the global cricket scene and even has a permanent seat in the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Daniel van Wyck, casino manager, is also proud of the fact that tennis is becoming increasingly popular in the country. Not many people know that Roger Federer’s mother Lynette was born in Kempton Park, Johannesburg which is why the ace started a charity foundation in the first place.
Extra Spins:
To show gratitude to its players and passionate sports enthusiasts, Springbok is giving its players 25 extra spins on an entirely new slot game from Realtime Gaming, called Secret Jungle. Punters must use the coupon code, SASPORTS, and opt in until August 30th 2018 to claim the prize.
Important to realize is that games are played in Rands whilst the customer support is provided in both English and Afrikaans.
