Back Super Bowl LI: Trump, Betting and Beer

Quite possibly the biggest sporting event in the USA is coming up on Sunday. It’s Super Bowl 2017, and as another season comes to a close, the New England Patriots will take on the Atlanta Falcons at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. Order up a dozen wings and ask yourself: are you ready for some football?

Will we catch a glimpse of President Trump on the side lines this year? Mr. President has connections to a number of the Patriots, which has some wondering if he’ll be a fixture on the side lines or anywhere at the stadium on game day. We’ve seen his hair blowing in the wind at several Patriots games but according to reports, it doesn’t look like he’ll be in attendance. He’s got much bigger fish to fry not to mention the security risk that would create. Could you imagine the chaos?

Who are you cheering for and will you be making a friendly wager? Football is serious business in America and sports betting stats spike during Super Bowl season. As for me, the Chicago Bears didn’t even come close (shocker), so I’m neutral. If you’re interested in another opinion or one man’s strategic method for placing a bet, check in with Brandon James as he gives football fans his view in a recent LSB article, ‘My Opinion and Four Bucks - NFL 2017’. He’s cutting it close but he’s chosen a clear winner. Want to know what his prediction will be? No spoilers from me. You’ll have to read all about it to find out.

Most importantly, will you be drinking the NFL’s official beer? It’s Bud Light, for those of you who don’t know. I’m more of a Miller Lite fan myself but that’s like arguing over Coke or Pepsi and we all know that Pepsi is best.

Well, LCB’ers, tell me who you’re betting on, what you’re drinking and, oh, don’t leave out the details of any good squares you bought.
