  • I have only used my card online at Slots Jungle, Slotocash, Desert Nights and Buzzluck within the past year or so.

I have received two phishing scam calls within the past week claiming they were my bank and were alerting me of possible fraud.  They then ask for personal info about you and the card for verification purposes. I googled the phone number and found out that everyone that believed them and went along with it was charged several times for things they did not authorize.

Be very careful.  It has something to do with one or more of the casino's above.  I don't think it is the casino's themselves, because they have that information already.  But I am afraid our info is not as secure as we think it is.

I know all of this for a fact because I have several cell numbers and use one specific number for online gaming accounts.  This is the number they called.  Nobody else, including my bank knows this number.

    just be cautious.

  • thanks for the info jocan16

it's even worst if they charge international collect call too

  • Wow what a trap to fall into and so easily the can scam us. The only thing i can think of is that somehow this personal info is being leaked because most casinos do not sell information to third parties.

I am curious if this is happening to anyone else, if not i would think carefully about anyone you know that may have your cell number and maliciously is trying to scam you. Even without your knowledge someone could of got access to you cell number and know you well enough that you play online and cooked up a scam.

  • I haven't personally used a bank card, but I've had some odd things happen to my gambling card though.  Thank goodness it only costs $1.75 to have the account number changed along with getting a new card number.  So hence why I never use a bank card directly with my online gaming.  Too many risks involved.

  • i have had this happen to me before with my pre paid and when i questioned a debit, they did charge backs on a few of the casinos i deposited at always be very careful guys sad

  • About 2 weeks ago I had a legitimate call about someone trying to use my card at a few stores. I had just emailed an account verification form with my card info to one of the online casinos so I couldn't help but think it had something to do with that. I was able to deactivate that card and get a new one right away.

  • Interesting enough .. i have noticed since your recent thread about losing horribly too ...

Scary. Without that fact you would have no idea how this happened. Thank goodness you didn't respond to the phishing emails and it is somewhat comforting to know who is using your card info. It's better than not knowing but does this mean you won't play at these casinos anymore?

People tend to think it was a recent transaction that has compromised their cards but most times it's not unless you're seeing cash withdrawals with your PIN. If someone was trying to use your card at stores it probably wasn't due to any dealings with the casino. For someone to counterfeit your card they need the data coded within your card. This can only be obtained from somewhere your card was actually swiped.

Most times if there is fraud on your account due to dealings with an online casino, there would be online purchase attempts because that's all they can do with your card number and expiration date. They would have no way of creating a duplicate of your card without capturing the data encoded within it.
  • Thanks for clearing that up froggy it makes perfect sense!

  • Know the phone number of your checking, debit and credit cards fraud departments and I never answer questions over the phone, rather I tell them I will call the fraud department directly. Even when I get the automated phone calls asking me to verify charges, I just hang up and call the fraud department of the account they mentioned directly.

  • Thanks for the heads up. I would never give my personal detail to anyone over the phone but you never know, anyone could be caught off guard. Luckily, my bank has an office just across the street and I'm used to the procedures.
