  • i have always used the same prepaid card that i have to load whenever i want to play.  i deposit normally 100 or 150 per deposit.  my prepaid card statement always shows up to $6 extra for a deposit of $150.  i have questioned the prepaid card on several occasions and they say it is the processor charging that amount  (which i believe as it shows the same name as the recipient as the original charge)  when i question the casino (s)  they say they would never charge extra and deny it wholeheartedly.  SOOOOOOOO....who is full of shit here???  over the last couple years the extra charges have been hundreds of dollars..i dont really want my money back,  i just would like the casinos to acknowledge they are charging extra....OR  is my VISA card company lying and just using the casino processors name on the fake charges????

  • Not sure who is lying, but I do know have seen some sites that say they will give you back all fees on deposits over $100, so obviously there are some fees involved.  I hope you eventually can pin down the culprit.

  • I use the same deposit method you do and I see the same charges not all the time just once every 4-5 deposits and they are definitely from the casino since they have the same name as the debit charge..I haven't done anything on them since mine are pretty small and infrequent , more like $1.50 but I will review mine and check it out now that you have brought it to my attention..there really shouldn't be any extra charges since the "deposit successful" screen we get after making the deposit in the casino always has a lower amount than what we actually deposited.  Thanks for the heads up

  •               I hate to say it but I think these "phantom" charges no one can account for are probably the price we Americans have to pay to play so to speak.  (At least for the time being).  I mean we have few choices, little if any recourse for these processors who operate God knows where and has little if any regulation.... Arghhhh!!! don't get me started!!

  • I think that VISA would not lie about this,  i do believe that the casino, last deposit Lucky Red's processor would lie about this,,,,,,how could the charge go to the same name as the processor if the charge wasnt coming from them??  does this seem possible...????  WHY  would visa do this?????  I would love a rep to jump up on this and explain......slots jungle was the last to deny that is could happen and those charges were for hundreds of extra fees.....please someone advise

  • AND...the initial charge that shows on the screen....when it says 'CONGRATULATIONS"  your charge has gone through is ALWAYS MORE than the amount you requested deposited......ie...when it say we charged you 49.97 for a $50 deposit, it shows up as $50.78 or something????

  • PLUS......the extra charge on top of that?????

  • If the processor is from China, as slotocash has explained it.  This charge is brought on by the Chinese banks wanting to be reimbursed for them not having an agreement with the US.  So the charge will always be for anywhere from a $0.01 to a $1 more.
Then there's always the good old foriegn transaction fee, brought on by the debit card provider themselves.  I'm still not sure what good this fee really does them.  All I know is every month my prepaid provider not only get $3.95 for me to reload the silly card 7 times a month.  Then they get another $40 to $50 in foreign transaction fees to boot.  Talk about a money making scheme in place.

  • i also have the transaction fee but VISA SAYS THE $1.00  IS their fee and has their name on it......they dont deny this charge...

  • Those charges are international charges, my bank charges me every time i make a deposit. The only time i wouldn't  get charged was when i would play at poker stars. I believe it the processing fee.

  • u are not alone,i have charges that say $4 atm withdraw(u cant withdraw 4 from an atm )also i have lots of $1 charges and even 43cent charges from my latest deposits.I didnt question them because i dont want a charge back.I thought that was very strange indeed. Now my prepaid account is overdrawn sad

  • Just went thru my statement for August only- was $ 29.31 in additional fees taken from the casino-all different amounts and not on every deposit to the casino (all the same casino) ugh..I am so in a "time to end this crap mood"

  • Does sound like things are getting out of hand with the hidden fees.  I haven't noticed that at the bingo sites, but if I do, I'll post here as well.

  •         This is such bull****. Foreign transaction fees my ass!!  this is done in seconds by computers and is cheaper than a long distance phone call.  Like I said earlier, because (especially us Americans) we  have so few options for making deposits,  we have to suffer these indignities if we want to play.  And they know that we will pay,  might grumble about it---but we pay.  Wish they'd just regulate it and get it over with already.  Just my opinion....

  • I would tend to think that they are international charges too but not if the casino is charging the fee. Usually the card issuer pulls that stunt. Weird.

  • Alright so I got some more information from my prepaid provider.  Here how it works, the initial charge is the charge brought on by the processor.
So if the processor is using a foreign bank in a funky country that doesn't have an "currency exchange" treaty in place.  Most of these banks will charge up to $1 extra to cover there costs for putting the charge thru for you.
Then there's the good old international/foreign transaction fee.  This is brought on by your bank/prepaid card issuer and the card issuer.  So for example, Visa and Mastercard have an automatic 1% currency conversation rate fee.  Some banks absorb this fee, and other banks pass it along to you.  Then the banks also have the option with this fee to add there own currency conversation fee on top of it.  Which by most banks is 1 to 3% additional from what Visa/Mastercard charge.  So then the fee because 2 to 4% varying on what card issuer you have.
So for my best example that happened recently.
I sent a charge thru, that was in China.
The processor said they were going to take $19.97.  When in reality because the bank was in China, and the bank doesn't have a currency exchange treaty in place.  They decided to reimburse themselves for the charges of conversation our US dollar to Chinese currency.  Which then resulted the charge being $20.52.  Then on top of my prepaid card provider charged me an additional 3% on top of that.  Which resulted in a second entry once the charge settled.  For an additional $0.62 which is the fee they collected for Visa and themselves for sending the money in a foreign currency.
Talk about a lot of fees to just to play. O.o

  • cheetah  thanks for the enlightenment........i hope the casinos read this so maybe they could explain how the system they use works...i wonder how many people had overdrafts becasue of this if they were running ow on funds?
