The coalition is designed to educate policymakers and the public about the current ambiguous laws in the U.S. that have led to a $6 billion a year illegal gambling market led by rogue offshore operators.  FairPlayUSA supports Congress once and for all defining what is illegal gambling and providing stronger law enforcement tools to ban such gambling, as well as providing a strict regulatory framework for online poker.

Check out the website...I just signed the petition to get rogue operators like Rome Casino out of business and protect consumers from these kind of businesses.

Yes I've heard of it Joyce.  I'm not USA but if everyone signed the petition, maybe the USA Govt. might shift things along a little.

Legalization of poker and casinos for USA players can only be a great thing and the sooner they get it sorted, the better.

I think signing this is a bad idea. I think anyone from the US signing anything that has ANYTHING to do with banning any kind of gambling is a bad idea. My opinion it draws more attention, and alot more focus.

I thought that was the general idea..in other words to get them to legalize it?  I'm not quite sure of your line of thinking here Jacob, are you saying you don't want it legalized and you want it left as it is?

I think it could be tricky and i kinda see where Jacob is coming from. To some in congress they may use this as a tool for not legalizing gambling. Anything negative to use against the legalization of gambling, these anti-online gambling politicians will use.

This could actually boomerang against those who want the ban lifted. I understand the good that is wanted to be taken out of this but because the focus is on the negative side of online gambling it could hurt us more than help us.

I see where you're coming from Lips.  Thanks.

It is a very fine line indeed.

I'm glad I signed the petition.  If these efforts could facilitate the elimination of rogue operators doing business in other countries, I'm all for it.  NJ approved sports betting at their casinos in AC and now need federal approval.  If each of these efforts start coming together, we will see a big change in the future.

Currently, there is no protection for U.S. players and this needs to stop.

How do you feel about being taxed at source on your winnings i.e. the casino takes your tax for you?  I'm not saying that is going to be the case but it is something to think about.  How do you think taxation will work?
