Are the wagering demands on bonuses and free spins fair to players??

I've been wondering that question many times, mostly after having missed the wagering requirements casinos put on their offerings I call that bonusmoney Donald Duck money, it's not real money before you have wagered it usually min 35 times. I have succeeded in that wagering about 0.06% of times tried. No need to mention , it' an allmost impossible task. There are a few casinos  that don't have wagering , and I think we should  demand that from all the casinos. Where do casinos take those wagering time numbers, thy say it is a fairplay requirement, I say they are just greedy.

you cant expect to get something for nothing. So this is not an issue of greed as casinos are by no means obligated to offer any free chips/spins etc.
And when they do it has to come with some restrictions, ie wagering requirements. And at least you do stand some chance to actually win off of a freebie ( given you do complete the WR ).

Now I do agree that the WR itself has skyrocketed and increased so much in compare to say several years ago. And it does make it tough to cash-out. But it is not entirely casinos fault. As due to so many bonus abuse these days, they had to protect themselves somehow.

Bottom line is, if there was not for bonus abuse, cheating etc, which is done by minority of players, there would not be a need for high WR. It is a shame that because of the few rotten apples  we all have to suffer the consequences.

But it is what it is, and you can always choose not to play with a bonus ( free or not ). That is what I do.

The wagering requirements are difficult to make the majority of the time that is for sure, We all have the option of straight up deposits, no coupons though.

I guess if we gamble to make money, 1 - we wouldn't play slots but poker or something that we can possibly control the outcome somewhat based on the level of skill.

If we gamble for entertainment then prolonging play on slots by taking a coupon is a choice. If we are lucky enough to cash out all the better. ( I obviously always want to make WR all the time!)

Perhaps the casinos could create a method of having lower WR for loyal players and higher for the fly by nighter's?

Lower wagering for loyal players sounds fair,. Personally I never take bonus money, ai want to withdraw money when suits me and not after some wagering rules. But free spins  I do receive as everybody else, and there it makes the difference. I rather take 50cents  winnings from free spins in real cash than 10€ with 35* wagering.  I have learned this the hard way.

Sometimes when you are almost out of money to deposit and you find out you got some free spins hanging ... Win something with it ... and actually meet the WR ... Makes me smile

I like the WR at unibet by the way ... freespins is 25x and free money is just 3x

For me it's simple- if i deposit small amounts, up to 50 e, of money, i don't take bonuses, because if you hit it, you hit. But if the sum is bigger, than the deposit bonus goes and the wagering is posible to meet. If you deposit 200 and get 50 % deposit and the wagering is 35x, as in most place, by spinning on 1-2 e you can easily wager the money. But in the end- it's a casino they have to put wag req on the money and in the end, if you are hitting the spins than you're hiting them and can meet the requirements. And, what i have noticed, for free spins- were there are wagering req usually the spins pay well and you can do something from that what you get..

I did some math on the forum like an year ago. All of those bonuses with 35x/40x WR are crap. You have like 1% to actually meet your WR so yeah, just wasting of money.

Funny you should say this, as for me, it's just the other way around: if i make deposits of 50,- or more, i usually don't take bonuses, unless it's in places like Vera and John, where the Bonus only activates if you run out or Real Money ( like a back up) but if i do smaller deposits, i love to take a bonus on it: my reasoning is, when i hit something good, i'll usually make wagering easily (because i only took bonus on small depo, meaning the playthrough is also small) and if i don't hit i have a longer playtime then i would normally have.

I have a very good succes ratio on deposit bonuses to be honest, and i want to stress that it is important which Casino you pick, as i don't like too many Bonus Restrictions, so i pick from a list of around 10 casino's that have achievable rollover (25 to 50x B), practically no restricted favorite games (like DOA etc.) and fair restrictions on betsizes. (max of 5,- per spin at all times)

When this is the case, i feel Bonuses definitely favor me as player,
Also have to say that if i make rollover, i tend to cash out any profit! Which can't be said if i am playing without Bonus...

Somehow, because you know in your gut that most Bonuses aren't easy to beat, once you succeed you don't want to waste the effort, so you cash out.

When I get free spins I really can't complain about wagering, though often WR are so high and winnings so small that it doesn't really matter. I comfort myself that I play slots just for fun with no real intentions, though secretly I always hope, to win some big money. This means that most of the time I, play without any bonuses.

I would say, you have to look for slots that allow you to make the WR like SugarPop (BetSoft), you don't win big but you don't lose big either. With SugarPop I have menaged the WR for many bonuses. GnR might be the slot for wagering from the NetEnt stall because so far it seems to be a perfect slot for wagering. Cannot give a slot for RTG or MG because I do not take bonuses there. I would say, it is a matter of the slots and how you can menage them. I have menaged even 99x which seems crazy and this is definitely not fair to the players but it does not bother me that much. I would say, if you can wager 50% of the bonuses given to you, that is enough. Bigger problems are some restrictions like DoA is not allowed or DrJekull.. is not allowed or 5 euro as the biggest bet. I do not like those kind of restrictions because 1) I have to reed the bonus terms every time + 2) they are affecting my game. Sometimes I would like to bet more than 5 euro on Sugarpop which is easily, the slot has a minimum of 0.50 bet.
