  • >:(  I tried to claim the $150 exclusive ND bonus for Royal Apollo and was flat out denied!  Why????  Because someone was able to access my wireless internet connection, NOT MY COMPUTER but my IP, and opened multiple accounts.  But ya'll wanna hear the best part???!!!  NONE of the accounts have my info or details!  It's just my IP!  Now, I don't believe that with all the different signals that float freely in the air like: from our IPs, cell phones, cordless housephones, even the new "digital tv", that the use of a free-floating signal by itself should be cause for refusal of a bonus in of itself!  If my neighbors internet signal can show up as an available network on my computer, doesn't mine do the same?  How can I keep a signal I have NO control over until it reaches my computer be MY responsibilty?  How is a person who got their first computer exactly 30 days ago today know that the internet they pay A LOT of money a month for isn't secure?  I thought that's why I had to put in the WEP Key when I first set my computer up for internet.  How am I supposed to know it can be accessed without the WEP Key?  AT&T told me it couldn't be.  Hear, read this chat and if anyone has any advice, I would REALLY appreciate it!  Thanks!

Nikki: Unfortunately, the casinos security system has flagged your account and you are not eligible for the welcome nodeposit promotion. You may still play with other welcome promotions.
Linda: Why not?! I've never been to your casino before!
Nikki: I'm sorry but the system does not allow a freebie due to multiple accounts reported at Rival Powered Based Casinos for your household.
Nikki: I'm sorry to inform you that your account is not eligible for promotions due to multiple duplicate accounts. As per the user agreement, only one account per casino per household/computer/ip is allowed to claim promotions. Note there is only one account at this casino but there are multiples created at various rival casinos and that is not allowed. The terms state only one account per casino per household is allowed. I'm sorry but the system does not allow a freebie due to multiple accounts reported at Rival Powered Based Casinos for your household. However you are able to play but you are not eligible for bonuses.
Linda: What accounts at my address?
Linda: Well, considering I just got this computer exactly 30 days ago, and have never had an account here, that's a little impossible, don't you think?
    Nikki: One moment please.
Linda: How many accounts do you claim come from my address and computer?
Nikki: Sorry but there was multiples created from the same ip address or computer
Linda: NO, I'm NOT being a *itch! I have been having problems with my ID being used.
    Linda: This computer???!!!
Nikki: Yes i am afraid so
Linda: OK, tell me when and where so I can try and catch the person doing this!
Nikki: There are multiples from that household either from the same ip address ( internet connection) or computer . There is multiples accounts also not under your name
Linda: As I said, I just got the computer 30 days ago today. Never been to your casino, don't know how it could be me!
Nikki: There were multiple  accounts already created from that ip address or computer under different names for various rival casinos
Linda: My internet is AT&T wireless. Hell, my neighbor's internet connection shows up on my computer! It's not the same address
Nikki: Please note that these were created either from the same ip address or computer
Nikki: and i am afraid there is nothing we can do as there are not all under your name
Linda: So, you mean to tell me that someone could have logged into my wireless because their computer caught the signal and I can't get a bonus because of it?
Linda: NONE should be under my name!
Linda: This is the only e-mail I have.
Linda: As I asked, though, So, you mean to tell me that someone could have logged into my wireless because their computer caught the signal and I can't get a bonus because of it?
Nikki: Please understand what i am trying to explain . There are multiples created from either the same ip address (internet connection) or computer
Nikki: and they are registered not only under your name
Linda: Hello????? You there or ignoring me???!!!
Nikki: but there are also under other names
    Nikki: Excuse me
    Nikki: I sent a response
    Linda: My bad!
Nikki: Yes some one can be using your internet
    Nikki: It is a wireless
Nikki: yes they may be using your connection
Linda: See, as I said, my ID has been stolen. Do you understand? You are not the first to tell me about account I have never created!
    Nikki: One moment please.
Nikki: Well the as i have explained not all the accounts are under your name
Nikki: But they were created from the same internet connection or computer
Nikki: That is what i am trying to say
Nikki: and the ones under your name
Nikki: all have the same details
Nikki: the ones that are not
Nikki: do not have the same
    Nikki: drtails as yours
Linda: I got that. That's not my concern. I'm worried about those that ARE in my name. smiley
    Linda: I get it.
Nikki: The ones in your name have the same details
Nikki: and those are your accounts
Linda: You do understand that when someone takes over your ID, they have all of that kind of information, don't you?
Nikki: But being that at the other rivals there were already multiples created by other parties
Nikki: when you created your account there were linked
Linda: OK. What does that have to do with the fact I need help in finding out what I can about those fraudulant accounts that have been opened up in my name with my details?
Nikki: Again i state there are not with your details
Linda: Do you not see the fact I don't care about the bonuses at all/
Nikki: there are with the parties details
Nikki: but created from either the same ip address or computer
Linda: Well, it had to have been my IP, because only I have the password to this computer, and it's the only one in my house.
Nikki: Please note that the accounts are not with your name or address but were created either by internet connection or from the same compute r
Nikki: they do not have your details
Nikki: Not all accounts created are under your name
    Linda: OK, got that.
    Linda: Ok, got that, too.
Nikki: And again i say it can be that there are using your connection
Nikki: But that is what they are using the accounts that are there are not under" YOUR NAME" or with your " DETAILS"
Nikki: That os what i am trying to explain
Linda: So, even though it wasn't my computer, me, my details, address, or e-mail, because I have a wireless connection that just floats through the air where anyone can connect to it, I can't get bonuses/
Linda: No, I understand THAT part completely.
    Nikki: One moment please.
Linda: Just don't get how in this day and age, with so many wireless connections floating through the air, anyone could think that holding a ip responsible for whether or not someone has used your casino is a little closed minded.
    Nikki: One moment please.
    Nikki: One moment please.
Nikki: Again i will try to explain no one used your details not you address not your name not your date of birth. The other accounts were possibly just a shared internet connection
Nikki: and that does not state that your personal details were used
Nikki: As i have explained there are not under your name or with your other details
Nikki: But there were created from the same ip address or compute r
Nikki: that is what i have been trying to explain
Nikki: no one as used any of 'YOUR'  details
Linda: And As I keep saying back to you, I get that! It's not my info, but my ip
Linda: But I mean, honestly, if someone know how, they could use any connection their computer finds to download your software and the rightful people couldn't. That seems a little unfair.
Linda: Now do you understand my point?
Nikki: Well all i can suggest is get a secure internet connectin. If your connection is open it will be used and abused by other
Nikki: and when that happens there is nothing we can do
    Nikki: It was your connection
Nikki: We can only suggest that you secure your internet
Linda: An ip just floats around until found and used. Anyone with the proper knowledge could use that connection to download the casino. Then if the person who rightfully uses that connection tries to use your casino, they are "linked". That's not fair! Instead, maybe the casino should make it to where NO MATTER WHAT, there can only be 1 account per computer, like some of the casino I joined do.
Linda: I'm not asking for anything, just trying to point out a serious flaw in your system that should be re-evaluated
Linda: For other people's good, not my own.
    Nikki: One moment please.
Nikki: Sorry but we are not able to do anything about 'YOUR' connection that is the players personal responsibility to secure there connection the casino cannot be held responsible for your Internet connection
Nikki: We are not able to monitor a players connection that should be secure by the player
Linda: Did I say you should be???!!! Why so defensive?
Nikki: "maybe the casino should make it to where NO MATTER WHAT, there can only be 1 account per computer, like some of the casino I joined do. :
Nikki: I was responding on yhat
Nikki: we are not able to do anything on the connection when used 'But  when the accounts are created
Nikki: The system is programmed to closed the account automatically
Nikki: or make the accoutn ineligible for bonuses
Nikki: That is what we are able to do
Linda: What a suggestion?! So no one else can get screwed by a stranger like I did? Are you kidding me?! I'm not attacking you whatsoever!
Nikki: again what i can suggest that you do is secure your connection so it may not be used again
Linda: WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never thought that trying to give a little insight would cause such hostility! BTW, I didn't know it could be unsecure. I don't work with computers.
    Nikki: Yes we understand that
Linda: All I did was suggest a way to help ya'll keep this from occuring again.
Nikki: that is why we suggest that you now secure the connection
Nikki: So that they do not do anything worse
Nikki: And have you account closed due to that
Linda: Thanks for everything, but I would like to say I am REALLY glad this has happened to me. If this is how you treat a person who's trying to get some info on ID theft, I would hate to see how ya'll would treat me if I hadf deposited anything!
Nikki: And we do have a system put in place for multiples that closes the account when there are too many multiples created and when there are not too many multiples the account is made ineligible for bonuses.
    Linda: Goodbye and GOOD RIDDENCE!!!!!!

So, can ANYONE tell me exactly what I did to be told I can not get ANY bonuses from Rival?  Or, how I can get the casinos to take me seriously?  They treat me like a scam artist even AFTER I tell them I DO NOT care about the bonus!  I mean, she seemed to understand meverything I said EXCEPT the part about NOT caring about the bonus!

    Someone....ANYONE...help!      :'(

  • I have same issue with tropica and they will not listen either scary situation if this is going on. good luck.

  • I have never had an issue with any Rival casino, in a long time....UNTIL yesterday.

Was told I had multiple accounts at Tropica, which is just not true. I have always been very careful with my accounts, and I live alone, so no one else in the house downloaded Tropica, as they claim, on my IP address.

Live chat was nice enough, but firm, in the fact there was nothing they were going to do for me.  Was told it would be sent to management for further review. I dont hold out alot of hope that that is going to do any good.

Not sure what is going on.

  • Is your broadband connection "wireless"?  If so, is it secure?  Is it possible someone tapped into your connection?

Alternatively, is it possible that someone is using some sort of "masking" device that covers the true IP address and randomly "shows" other IP addresses.  It seems very strange that it has happened to two of you.

  • I just did a bit of a search and came across this:

"When last I checked, I believe AOL puts all of its subscribers behind the equivalent of a collection of routers. Therefore when you as an AOL user connect to a web site you may be using the same IP address as some other AOL subscriber who came before you."

    Do you use AOL?

    Also this:

If you're behind a router, your IP address is an IP address on your local network, not the internet. Most consumer routers use the 192.168.1.x range. In fact, most will start assigning IP addresses at 192.168.1.1, then 192.168.1.2, then 3 and so on.

As a result there are thousands of machines out there at IP address 192.168.1.1 on their local network.

If the "detection" software attempts to use the IP address of the machine rather than the IP address of the machine's connection to the web site, then it'll just be wrong. The first person with an IP of 192.168.1.1 might be able to vote, but all that follow would be seen as coming from the same address.

Not sure if this helps but it may go some way to explain it.

  • That's what I have learned a few months ago. If you are on a "Broadband wireless with a router (Can log on anywhere within 200 yards/feet of house) then you ARE exposed to anyone "Piggybacking" on your service"

Unless you block the router (Set up a login code) anyone passing by can hitchhike your connection and it'll show up as YOU.

I believe that has occured to others. On other gambling boards.

The thing is, that some casinos want you holding a blowup copy of license and such to verify your details. This has worked for some, but I don't know if it works for all.

So, the only thing I can say is have your router protected/excrypted and this shouldn't happen to you. (Hopefully)

  • We have wireless broadband but had the option to set up a password login and we did. I know it is working because my daughter tried to connect when she was visiting and we had to give her the password.

  • I am having this problem with Lock casino. The kicker is they say it is not the SAME IP address, just close enough that they believe I am somehow changing my IP address.  I dont even know what the hell an IP address is or how it works, let alone do I know how to change it.  How can they hold it against me if the address isnt event the same????  I dont know what there problem is but they are harassing the wrong customer and losing themselves plenty of money by doing so!

if it isn't a secure connection, they do not have to "tap" into anything, they
have everyright to just go in.  unless you put a wep key lock on, anyone in the vicinity is allowed to use whatever is available.  so it's highly adviseable to put a lock on.

What a joke - "close enough" but not the same.

Definitely something not right about that - how can they use that as an excuse?
