  • What’s the difference between raising bet level opposed to raising coin value?

    For example:
Take NetEnt slot Victorious (although I think it also applies to most video slots online).
You can play min. of 25 lines at 0.01 coin value and bet level 1, bet per spin €0,25.
You can raise your bet per spin by raising either

    the coin value to 0.02
(25 lines at 0.02 coin value and bet level 1, bet per spin €0,50)

    or

    the bet level to 2
(25 lines at 0.01 coin value and bet level 2, bet per spin €0,50)

In both cases the bet per spin is increased to €0,50.
So what’s the difference between raising either one? Can gameplay be affected by choosing either one of those options (like maybe unlock special features or something like that)?

If it doesn’t make any difference, then what’s the point of having the option in the first place?

If what I wrote above isn’t making much sense, please tell me (English is not my native language) and I’ll try to further clarify.

  • It just adds more combination of possible bet size. There aren't any "special feature" depending on your bet in most slots but there are few exceptions like "play max bet for a chance to win jackpot".

  • Hoi Kimmie, er is ook een Nederlands gedeelte, waar nog niet zo veel gebruik van gemaakt wordt, maar waar je je vragen kwijt kunt, en over dit soort dingen discussieren kunt in je eigen taal:)

But since this is the English part, i'll answer it in English:

In your example you see no difference in the actual bet, but this only works with the jump from 0.01 to 0.02 coin-size, and bet level 1 and 2 on the minimum coin-size.

The next coin-size would be 0.05 that's one more step, and at level one this would already be 1.25 per spin.
If you however just change it to the next level on the 0.01 coin-size, you are now only betting 0.75 per spin.

So as sommi indicated, it is just a means to vary your betsize in more steps, with less of an impact.

It doesn't really affect anything in terms of RTP, although like sommi also stated, in some slots you can't hit the jackpot playing anything less then max bet.

There also is one recent exception, the slot Steam Tower from Netent, actually encourages you to use the level option, since in the bonus game, you get 1000 coins for each bet level you are playing. So maybe there will be more slots like this in the future..

If this is not clear enough for you feel free to re-post in the Dutch section:)

  • So what’s the difference between raising either one? Can gameplay be affected by choosing either one of those options (like maybe unlock special features or something like that)?

dirkemans and Sommi explained it pretty well. It does not affect RTP, but it does give you more betting combinations. With RTG games for example that allow you to change only coin size, you will have only several betting combinations per line, while on NetEnt or MG games, you get that 10 bet levels for example for every coin size you can select, giving you as much as 50+ betting options.
  • The only difference, besides the bet siezes, is that you will see more coins wondwith the bet level turned up not the coin size cheesy:D The rest is already answered cheesy

  • Thanks for explaining! thumbs_up
It does make more sense to me now.
I understand it adds to combination of possible bet sizes but IMO the feature is a bit redundant. (Probably not in the least because I myself never use it  whistle)

    @dirkemans
Bedankt!
