  • Am I the only one that thinks deposit bonuses with wagering requirements are intended to increase the odds of losing your money?

The longer you have to play the better chance it is of you losing your money. It does not matter how much the bonus is because it is subject to the same playthrough.

    Interested in what others think.

  • Well, I normally go for the deposit match bonus being offered by 3Dice with only 1xWR with the highest of 5xWR .  That normally increases my playtime and more spins to placed on their weekly "contest" for more spins since deposit, highest wins, most consecutive free spins, etc. And I think they have the lowest WR.  At some other casinos where I play, I normally don't avail of their deposit match bonus which has a WR of x30 or 35X WR.    And because I like that when I win, I can withdraw anytime and not wait to finish play through that usually ends in a very disastrous way.  Yes, the longer you play, the more chance for you to lose. smiley smiley

It does depend on what the wagering requirements and the amount of your deposit. If you're lowroller and make small deposits only, it can make sense to claim a good match bonus to enxtend your playtime and sometimes even make playthru. But in my experience, I mostly dont make the playthru even if I have big wins in the beginning. But if i just deposit 20 or so without taking a bonus, the money can be quickly gone as theres not much room for variance. For higher deposits, I wouldnt take a bonus. I liket eh casinos best where I can withdraw at any given time as long as i have not dipped into the bonus section of my balance.
  • I think some deposit matches are great, especially as stated before.  If you don't normally have a huge bank roll to start with.  Then that way you have those few extra bucks to hit it big.

Yet I'll also agree that sometimes the wagering requirements can eat away at a big win that may have happened at the beginning of the play session.  If you can get several big or even medium sized wins during your play session.  That can help with wagering.

Otherwise yes match bonuses do tend to be a money pit for most folks as the wagering has gotten so high these days that it's near impossible to make the coupons without some huge luck.

It's simple to do some math. And yeah, if you want to have bigger chances to request a withdrawal - better avoid bonuses with high wagering requirements, they are fine if you just want to play for like 1 hour or to play with pretty high bets.
  • If I am to take a bonus I would just pay close attention to the WR. Even when I find a good match bonus it is very difficult to cash out anything. While a bit longer playtime could be a good reason to take bonus, I don't do it.

  • Once, I made a €150 deposit with a 90% bonus. As I'm not a high roller, it took me two days to meet the wagering requirements (x50). But it was worth it since I cashed out €500. However, I now seldom play with bonuses. I like to have the possibility to withdraw whenever I want. The downside is that I have to deposit more money. The positive aspect is that I withdraw a lot more than before so in my opinion, playing without bonuses is really worth it! So yes, according to my experience, playing with bonuses can favour the casino.
