Do you think casinos alter your personal odds?

So I am just completely curious.  Do you all think that casinos alter a player's personal odds? 

I started playing heavily a few months ago.  At first it was win, win, win.  I never really got ahead, just broke even.  Played alot of bonus rounds, had a lot of fun.  But once my accounts were no longer brand new, I can't seem to get a bonus round to save my life.  Could "beginners luck" be less of a myth and more of a fact?

I am thinking about throwing in the towel after a long streak of losing deposit after deposit after deposit.  The thrill of gambling comes with the occassional win.  Since there doesn't seem to be any of those anymore coming my way, perhaps there is no point in playing anymore. 

I was just wondering if you think casinos open up the slots a bit when you are new to get you excited, the tighten up after a month or so, or if this is just my personal experience.

I agree with you! At least it feels that way! I am done with online gambling it is just too rigged for me!

Sometimes it makes you wonder if they changed the payout %, also in free play im uselly alot more lucky when trying games before depositing just yeasterday i mad 3500$ on a slot in less than 5min, did like 200spins on it today with real money and had a few hits but nothing major.

But beginners luck i don't know i've lost at all casinos ive been playing at very quickly none bonus/free play and if even hit the payout was so small it dident cover anything u lost getting it, today was first time i was lucky on playing through a wager and ive done like 10-15deposits this weekend alone all at new casinos to try something new.

Keep in mind luck, or the lack of it, does come and go in "streaks." 

But, I can't help noticing that people I know....which is not many, admittedly, who gamble online report great luck the first couple of weeks.  This makes me wonder if the casinos' software gives you the THRILL of winning early so that you are hooked, OR, perhaps the software has a profiling aspect to it.  It would not be hard to track a persons online gambling habits to see if they have a record of making deposits even AFTER several losses.

I have to agree with most that is being said.

When I started playing online a few weeks ago, I would either cash on the huge new player exclusive bonuses or I would get very close to playthrough (most around $35k in playthough!).

Now that I am hooked for the most part, I cant hit anything at all.. even if I lower my bet amount drastically, it just keeps chipping away at my balance.

Going to try the Dendera 600% bonus on a $100 deposit and call it quits online if nothing happens.  All of my success has been with Rival, none of the RTG's have gotten even close to paying out for me.

When you go to land casinos (like in vegas etc.) If you don't win or you just keep losing don't you walk away from that game ? If your not winning or at least feel like you are  log out  for an hour then try it again. Or at least log out & login & play for free awhile to change your luck.

Software is real easy to manipulate .All you have to do is write a script to control / check etc. any process

I think the more you play, the more opted we are to have these feelings compared to an occasional gambler, playing everyday will have a stronger feeling of this altering compared to one who does once a week or a month.
We first start out as occasional gamblers, then the time increases of course, thus the feelings do as well. The more we lose the more we wonder. But do we have the same feelings when we are winning?

In Vegas you can't gamble for free, you don't get free chips compared to online gambling in the same casino. Comps are done through meals, and hotel stay, some do offer money back you request in the players club, like comp points, usually you must get to 10 bucks to cash that out, which takes alot of gambling to get there. Online casinos don't have that option to offer you hotel stay, or free meals.
I've seen people beat up the casino chairs, beat machines, cuss out everyone as they are walking out the door, threatening employees causing alot of trouble in the casinos because of losing, so being upset for losing is not usual, its understandable spending alot of money and getting nothing in return, though you did gamble and every spin there is that chance to win and if you win they will pay you.

interesting question - recently i have asked the same question myself...and to be more specific...the question was directed towards Microgaming's - Age of Discovery and its bonus game. I find it odd when the bonus game has become scarce and far in between...that when i do hit the bonus game I always seem to pick a skull* on my first pick to end the bonus game with zilch, receiving only the min. win for hitting the bonus game. when it happened the first few times..i shrugged off and thought to myself i chose the wrong one....but when it kept happening over and over again i couldn't help but think no matter what i picked first it was programmed or rigged to be a skull*. I personally like Microgaming and i hope i'm wrong...but it just seems too much to be just a streak of bad luck or a coincidence. i'd be interested to know if others who play this game or other games have experienced the same thing.

Soda, do you play it alot and this happens or seldom and every time you play it's the same thing? I've noticed games that have lost their popularity are slow to give wins and bonus rounds, BUT have noticed games with great popularity be very tight taken in all it can. I've gone through that on my favorite machines barely hitting the bonus and when i do i pick the lowest amount over and over, when just a month ago i couldn't stop winning on it. So its so hard to say, whats strange is here on land casinos is we see machines that havent paid nothing, that are so overloaded with money take-ins, we try to find the machines that havent paid figuring since they havent they are bound to hit, constantly loading that machine that never hits losing our butts off to it lol. Find out a machine that paid out alot and they skip it thinking it paid to much already. Why do some games do that? I do beleive there is a cycle these games go through that are programmed in, and we hit them at that slow pay cycle.
If they were rigged some kind of way, if it is ever to be found out, can you imagine how much trouble these online casinos would be in, would it be worth it? I think they'd rather stay in business and not face lawsuits or even jail time. I'm trying to stay on the positive side and not beleive they could be rigged and money is not being ripped off, but who really knows?

satansmuff, i beleive you on that, after playing it long enough you can almost guess what you are going to win on that bonus round, thing is the cycles it goes through, when will the big hit bonus round come up, every 5,000 bonus rounds or every 50? Sitting down at that moment at the machine, and getting it just right... you could be on your 49th cycle and wouldn't know it, get up walk away and the next person comes along and sits, and BOOM gets the big hit bonus.. know what i mean?

I get what your saying imagination...but what I'm talking about is that the game actually showed me what I was gonna win on the bonus game before I even played it!! Which makes me belive that you don't really have a choice in the game and it's gonna pay out what it is set to.

I know, i beleive they are predetermined, what i was trying to say is without the glitch you can almost know what you will get. Don;t even have to be shown lol

Well, Lips....I do indeed think that casino's actually montior, or profile players accounts.....I had an experience I posted about a few weeks ago...If you think about it, it really wouldn't be so hard for a casino to do so if they have some kind of software available to them that raises a red flag when a persons account or bets reach a certain limit......If land casino's can moniter players then I'm sure online can do it too............................

After today i dont know, deposit 40$ wanted to play blackjack i got above 40 once else it wasent long before i was at 10$ dealer had 2-4 blackjacks in a row often and we are talking classic blackjack with 1deck thats impossibole tbh , so there i am 10$ left and thinking wtf to do then started on slots and got back up to 40$ with a bit luck then bang down to 10 again almost gave up but buildt up to 40$ again then everything just stopped few hits for 2-3$ once in a while but nothing serios so lost all, just fell't like when i hit ~40$ it was the magic number for me to start loosing fast, thinking about just saving a little up and go to a real casino had very good luck with slots before i rarely lost anything, and i got copenhagen casino like 5km from here so its easy get there and never went, or maybe try out some of the webcam blackjack tables those cant be rigged since real dealers.

Keep this in mind... Land Casino machines are EACH equipted with a programmed chip... now tell me how they would do that online? Hopefully someone will understand what i mean.

Think about it a moment... that would mean every player playing that one game online would have the same outcome.. online it is not indiviual machines..

maybe one day we should all collaborate and play the same game at the same time - spin for spin - and see what results we get.

Could be fun to test soda69, but even in tournaments there is always number 1 with 2-3x more than 2nd place some insane amount, saw screenshots not long ago same guy won 1-2place the chance of that happening is 1:10000000 was at fortune longue grp i think.

I play cleopatras coins alot, i noticed sometimes ill get bad picks of the jugs over and over again and get no free spins for a time, then suddenly, free spins and free spins even retriggering like crazy, coins all in the free spins as well, then boom.. it goes to nothing.. no picks no spins, taking all i made in those rounds, get down to a 1.00 left, hit a pick or free spin get nothing lol

Great idea Soda!! I'm with you on that...I've always wondered if I always get the same machine when I play the same game...It seems like it is because when you leave a slot online and come back to it at another time your at the same place you were when you left.....I know I mentioned this in another post butTomb Raider II is the best example I can think of..If you quit the game with 3 passports lit up, next time you go back to play it those same 3 passports are still lit up for you [which is a good thing, I guess]...................let me know when you want to TEST!!! lol

Is the %'s for payout for hitting the jackpot, or is it all around outcome of your play % ?

Odds i do look at for different types of card playing, but are odds the same as %'s ?

I 've played alot of blackjack both at land and online and I swear, I've NEVER seen anything like the wins the dealer gets online....unless you want to include the movie Vegas Vacation...lol  I heard somewhere on this forum that the dearler always wins because they reshuffle the deck every single hand, I don't know if that's true or not, but it would certainly put the odds in the casino's favor

You're sitting there with 20, dealer wins and gets 21 with 5 cards.. or you are held on 18, dealer has 16 hits and gets a 3, not only once or twice does this happen but over and over!!!

I can say this, thus all this being said, my most highest paying wins have been with cards (hitting royals and 4 ofakinds with kickers) and more often i got the high wins compared to slots, playing 1.25 a hand, fullhouses, 4 of a kinds, and royals come around alot more then those bonus rounds and then even recieving anything IN the bonus. Cards you have alot more playtime winnings. You pour out alot more money playing the slots.. but thats easy entertainment and thrill that keeps us at those slots, cards can be boring.
I was playing 1.50 a spin and was noticing getting 15 cents on the lowest pay symbol.. with cards the lowest pay is at least your bet back

In reply to the blackjack, I just played a little today....on top of dealer always pulling some magic out of their butts I noticed another thing...everytime dealer has a face card, they ALWAYS have another face card, but when my first card is a face I get 2,3,4,5,6 to go with it and unlike the dealer when I hit on anything below a 16 I ALWAYS bust!!

I just don't see the odds in winning on Blackjack... (3-2 blackjack 2-1, 1-1 all else) insurance (add a certain more) lets you keep your bet, a push keeps you even, it's either going to be a loss or even money. Only winnings are... if you get up and go on a lucky streak of the cards, the only true chance of taking any wins is if you are the dealer.

When i played (live) i really feel i won because i was new to the game and they wanted to catch another fish for their sharks.
