True - but the domain is extinct in effect.  They moved everything a while ago plus they don't serve USA players any more (technically).

They are siting Copyright Infringement in this seizure... I find that interesting... so what is up with that?

They have often used tax evasion as a way to arrest gangsters and other criminals because they could not bust them for their real crimes... perhaps this is similar?

Bottom line is probably that they want to take down as much of the current gambling structure to make way for the US entry into the market as they can.

I can't make heads or tails of this. Why would the DOJ waste time on a dormant domain? There are plenty of others to pick on.  8'|

It doesn't make much sense to me either.

I just hope that the US government decides to make it legal for us and before I'm too damn old to remember what a computer is!!

this was long time coming. Bodog and Calvin Ayre were poking US Gov's eyes for too long I guess. No wonder they killed  .com domain and switched  to .eu few months back, its like they expected this to happen.

I couldn't of said it better Zuga, that is exactly what happened in my opinion too. I mean i loathe how the US government is controlling this whole online gambling situation but to dangle it like a carrot in front of the DOJ acting as if they are unstoppable is just plain wrong.

Usually when i read articles about seizures such at this or bullying tactics from US authorities i get really angry but i have to admit this was a long time coming and felt certain it was bound to happen.

ya know as much as i watch these elections and everything else unfold this calendar year.. i should remind my fellow American country persons that theoretically  or not, to govern and subjugate the individual with political parties is in essence criminal completely ... think about this next time you question a candidate or voting for that matter. Law enforcement of policy nothing more.

all I can say is that all these corrupt politicians should be locked behind bars! Americans love and want to gamble. LEGALIZATION NOW !

Also what some of these dumba$$ politicians are failing to recognize or simply neglecting it, is that Uncle Sam will make a lot from the fully regulated gambling market in US. Everyone will be paying the taxes, operators, affiliates and players.

And we all know about the ever growing US debt, so what a perfect way to compensate for some of that loss and boost the profits.

        its a no brainer....

I must be getting old because this legalization for online gambling is getting under my skin. My patience is wearing thin with the government and there lousy policy making body of politicians that are in it for their own personal gain. I think it is time for Americans to revolt and say I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE.

        well said 2fast4u,

however not just the taxes. there will be the license and other start up fees. Also i assume, once legalized ( which will happen State by State ), operators would have to submit the proof of their financial liquidity.

This will actually have a great implications for everyone, and improve the security of online gambling as not everyone would be allowed to acquire such license and it will benefit the players most of all.
Once it happens it will help to "weed out" all the shady operations and get the payment processing fast and reliable.

I assume there would be a regulatory body as well, which will control online gambling as such.

But first things first, these politicians need to get cracking...

I wonder if there at anytime was any kind of poll or vote ever done asking if Americans want online gaming to be legal, how we as citizens feel about it.. possibly it would be irrelevent anyway.. they want to control and regulate our money hidden behind weirded named politics, laws and bills.. another thought.. how much are they getting out of these quarterly seizures, and what are they doing with it?
