Has anyone else been having difficulties downloading RTG software?  For about the last week or two I have not been able to download any.  I get this weird error message saying  Not able to connect or something --- sort of like when the internet  connectivity is lost.    Now I know that isn't what's going on because I'm on now obviously but this is really weird and I have no idea what this is about.    Maybe it's the antivirus?  Firewall?

        All fine on my end.

Most likely its the antivirus. Try to disable it first , and once downloaded you can turn it on again.

If you use windows 7 or vista and you have windows defender, it may also cause a lot of problems and temporary disabling it may give results. (On a side note, I dont recomend using it at all if you already have a decent Internet security suite)

I had the same problem with some antivirus programs, I had to turn them off and then install software.

Thanks for the info. guys,  I use Avast (antivirus) and I tried to temporarily suspend it and it still didn't allow me to download.  I think it has to do with Windows 7-- I don't know.  I don't understand because it wasn't even an issue until a couple of weeks ago  so I don't know what could've possibly changed.

That happened to me.  I had to completely uninstall my antivirus, install the RTGs and then reinstall antivirus.

Thanks Jodi, I'l try that.  You know these antivirus programs are constantly updating themselves and I wonder if that has anything to do with it.  I would like to add that I have been able to play the flash/instant versions of RTG games but curious enough only a select few that they list...weird.

Now that you've mentioned Avast bongo, its a tricky antivirus suite, cause untill you uninstall it completely it doesnt really stop working (the firewall component if I remember or application control).

Its a solid antivirus and its free, but causes a lot of mess when you really need something installed and it wont alow you to. Thats the reason I dont personally recomend it.

Yes, I could play the instant ones fine, I recall a post on here a few months back about a free program that does a complete uninstall from your hard drive...  I don't recall the name of the program though....

Hey guys,  just wanted to tell you I think I figured it out.    Drtheolen,  you were right about Avast,  it seemed like a great free antivirus and I liked it but, (IMO), it was almost too aggressive.  I  uninstalled it and found another free antivirus which also seems to be effective and has a nice slide switch (on/off)  When  I turn it  to the "off" position  I can download and play on RTG no problem.    Thanks again everyone for the advice.

There is a way to make RTG casino as a trusted application in your firewall, it can be difficult to explain for every antivirus in one post, but if you fear for your  computer safety and want to play RTG with antivirus turned on, it might be a good idea to check the antivirus manual and see how to add an exception into a firewall.
