GlobalStars betting company must pay a fine of 100,000 euros, because it does not have a permit for online gambling.
It is the first time that the Dutch Gambling Authority gives a fine.
GlobalStars sits on Curaçao, but focuses on Dutch online users that play for example, bingo, roulette or a lottery.
Online gambling is illegal in the netherlands. At this time the Goverment is working on a law that allows but also regulates online gambling (regulates with the KSA). Until then offering gambling games on internet is banned in our country.
The Gambling Authority fine sends a clear signal to businesses and consumers. Last summer, the watchdog warned numerous companies that they should stop offering Internet gambling.
Companies who name NL on their website make great chance first to be in line to be fined. This also applies to Dutch languaged websites.
First fine by dutch KSA for dutch-targeted Globalstars.!!!!
