  • Hiya LCB'ers,

I am confused by the policies that have been implemented in regards to US players being allowed to play at certain casinos. Just like when the ban went into effect, Microgaming allowed all existing players, but didn't allow any new US players.

Now due to the seizure of the poker sites the trend is beginnig to happen again. Some sites are allowing existing players only. But what is the reasoning in that? Not that i am complaining because we are at least spared if we had an account. If the DOJ walks in and shakes down an online casino are they going to say "oh thats ok because these players were existing"?

Does anyone understand the reasoning behind this?

  • No, nor do I understand why existing players who have not yet deposited are not allowed to deposit or withdraw.

Speculating, perhaps they think new players will be "spies" for the DOJ.  Dumb.

  • No kidding chilly i had no idea if an existing player did not make a deposit then they are basically screwed. So in reality it should state "All existing US players who made a deposit". Hmmm i wonder if this rule is across the board for US existing players?

  • As far as Rivals go, it seems to be.  Might only be the ones who are not independent.  The casinos I had downloaded that are Rivals, I can still play, but can't deposit or withdraw.  One I have a balance with that I was trying to cash out.  Even though they accept QT and I have QT and have used QT at other Rivals often, they won't let me deposit or withdraw.  All processors have been removed (except for "comp points").

funny that I was able to open a new account at Casino Royal, though, and have deposit and withdrawal methods available.  I guess they are special.

  • Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I wonder if you did try to deposit though at the new account it would allow you to.

  • As long as the processor is visible, yes.

  • Makes me wonder if there was a little "loophole" in the UIGEA somewhere deep in all the blurb and "small print".  The financial processors are the ones committing the crimes and not the casinos as I understand it.
