- Hiya LCB'ers,
I have went to the land casinos here in the UK twice. When i first entered the casino i couldn't believe the difference between US casinos and UK casinos.
If you are a slot lover you have approximately 15-17 slots to choose from depending on what casino you go to in the UK. Immediately i am thinking like a typical US player certain i won't be able to get a machine with that few. I couldn't be more wrong. The little casinos are far from crowded. Both times i went there was maybe two other players on the slot machines.
There are a few table games and electronic roulette. The biggest upgrade they recently had was using vouchers instead of the old fashion coin and buckets to cash out. It was tough to get acclimated considering i am use to casinos that have anywhere from 1,200-3,500 slots to choose from!
The machines offer multi games with at least 4 slots to choose from. Some of the slot games were familiar to those i play at home like Lady Bugz, Mayan Riches and African Safari.
I am not certain if there is some land based casinos somewhere in the UK that are bigger or not. But i do know for those who come to visit America for the first time they will be in for a major treat when they go to the casinos!
- That is the one thing I want to do Lips - go to Vegas and see these awesome casinos. I've seen pictures and ours are "teeny" in comparison.
I did hear about a "super casino" in 16 cities over here (built to be like American land casinos) but that was as far as it got. I think it was thrown out before it even got off the ground as I've not heard a thing since.
I love to hear about US land based casinos- the enormity of them, the slots you have, the prizes you can win....it's so very different and I guess it was a huge shock for you being used to the big ones in USA.

Blue - as i am sure you have seen specials on Vegas and even through the internet, if you ever have the chance to go you will be in awe.
But not only in Vegas are casinos spectacular, they are through out the country in the US. I particularly say that now after seeing UK's casinos. Every casino is like it's own world. They captivate the players to offer them every possible convenience so that they won't need to leave.
It is not uncommon to have 4, 5, or more restaurants in any given casino.Casinos are known for some of the best buffets around. There are at many casinos hotels attached with spas, gyms and pools. There is top entertainment with concerts and shows.
All the machines use vouchers and the coins are a thing of the past. There are kiosks after every turn to cash in your vouchers.
Most casinos are generally very crowded even with a selection of slots that range from 1,500 - 3,500. Video Poker machines, table games and poker rooms are plentiful.
The atmosphere is usually loud and alive with action particularly at the crap tables.
Blue, you will go bonkers when you come to the US and i can't wait until you do to hear about your experience. And now is the best time to come with the pound kickin the US's arse against the dollar!
Where I live near Vancouver, Canada there are 5-6 casinos within 30 minutes drive time. And just like Vegas casinos most are like self contained resorts. Slots everywhere you look, table games, poker tables.Plus 4 that I know of have shuttle buses that take you direct from a nearby skytrain terminal or shopping center straight to the casinos and back for free.

One that I frequent, Starlight Casino, has many different gaming rooms, bars, lounges and is large enough that I have gotten temporarily lost.
We also have the world famous River Rock Casino Resort. It is a stunningly beautiful casino, with cathedral ceilings and a giant waterfall at the front entrance. It has hosted the WSOP and a few films have been shot there. It attracts world class entertainment and celebrity guests.
Plus just like online casinos you can belong to a loyalty program where when you insert a card similar to a credit card, it records every wager you make on slot machines and you earn rewards that you can cash in for free money ( with no wagering requirements lol). This card is good at any casino in our province so you are not restricted to where you play.
I also feel our land based casinos have much better odds at winning than online casinos and you get to cash out immediately without having to provide documents or a waiting period.
If you ever come to Vancouver you must check out our casinos. I believe they compare favorably to Vegas and Atlantic City.
