  • All good things must come to an end. The Lord of the Rings slot game at All Slots Casino will be closing on June 28th.  (This is Microgaming wide)

But here's the good news! An AMAZING new slot game is coming, and while they won't give away any details yet, let's just say it's going to be a real blockbuster. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, take your last few spins on The Lord of the Rings and get ready for more excitement coming soon!

What a huge shame, after all the hype about this slot. Personally, I would prefer it if they closed down Immortal Romance instead.

  • What a shame, I liked The Lord of the Rings alot, and of all 243 line MG slots was luckiest on it.

On the other hand, I remeber how much Immortal Romance was advertised prior releasing, but when it eventually came out, It was like: mountains were shaking but mouse was born.

So I agree with you blue, that is the slot they should close instead of LOTR. I guess ill need to satisfy for the time being with two of those Untamed slots (Bengal Tiger and Giant Panda) which are nice games.

Hope they will make something really good this time with that new release. Looking forward to see what will it be.

  • You still get LOTR; they're just replacing it with The Dark Knight...different pictures, exact same structure..joker substitutes for golem...there's no surprise, lol, it's already public knowledge.

  • Indeed dtsweet its 100% same slot just difference skin very stupid move from MG guess they are running out of ideas for new cool slots.

  • I can't play at MG being in the US, but I wonder if they are changing LOTR because they may be paying a pretty penny to use the LOTR copyrighted name, etc. Changing the skin to something without that fee may be a big savings for them...

  • Can somebody tell me why they are closing lotr slot?
I agree, if you wanna close something,  close immortal romance............lotr slots was a great slot to play.........

  • I think it was intended as a trilogy, but another platform put out LOTR II making LOTR defunct, and LOTR III an improbability; hence the change to a different license, whilst using the same schematics save for the graphics.

  • Maybe it was not much of a hit as they suspected? As katt said the same thoughts went through my head about the copyright expense. We have that slot at the land based casino where i live and it does not seem to have a large draw. I am thinking that for some folks some of the features might of been confusing.

  • But the new game has the same features; it's being replaced with an identical game, but for the images.

  • Well, they've got to do what they've got to do. I could think of plenty of Micro slots to get rid of instead of LOTR. With the technology available I think the software companies that receive licensing to make blockbuster slots could do much better but I guess we'll see more of the same with The Dark Knight.

  • As kazzi said, about a year now MG is out of ideas when it comes to conceptual changes in their games. At the same time it saddens me to see they are very persistently sticking to their "slot recoloring" approach. Recoloring LOTR is IMO stupid move, i really loved that theme and so did many players.
