  • Okay this is ridiculous. A man from the state of Ohio sued Hollywood Casino Columbus after he was robbed at his home after winning a jackpot....he left the casino and was at home....yep he was robbed at home no where near the casino.

So two guys entered his house and took his Blackjack winnings of $35,800 at gunpoint and David Hayes, 29, has decided to sue the casino because he believes that they should have given him a check. He is also questioning how secure the casino kept his personal info.

Hayes claims that he asked for his winnings to be paid in the form of a check but the cashier did not respond so he took the cash. She took down his driver's license number and personal data on paper and held it up for him to verify and allowing for others in the casino to see it.

The casino says the incident happened due to "his own negligence".

Ronald Jones, 26, and Ryan Bundy, 20 have been arrested and police are looking for a third thief.

    So what do you think?

  • it sure seems like a hell of a coincidence....maybe an insider from the casino aided the crime???  not enough facts from the case yet probably

  • At first I thought this was so obviously a bunch of BS but then I looked for more info and according to Hayes, he was robbed 2 hours later at his home and the men asked for the money he won. I still don't know if I believe him. Who's to say he didn't spend it all at the tables somewhere else?

  • Something's definitely not quite right here be it on the casino's part or the winner's part.  What a bummer though to win all that cash and then be robbed of it within a couple of hours.

  • The way I see it, anyone who was in the casino could see a man with a lot of money and follow him home, than rob him. I believe its his big mistake walking through town with $35,800 in his pocket. You hear on news almost everyday people killing each other for much lesser summs of cash.

  • Well, I guess they should have given him a check. Then again, he should have gone straight to the bank with that cash, make a deposit or store it in a deposit box. You can't go home with all that money, especially after so many people have seen you win it.

  • Well, I guess it is a bit of a coincidence (and I don't believe in coincidences). Then again, I have seen way weirder trials and people suing each other and companies for some insane things.

  • Well, he shouldn't go home with all that cash. Too bad that he was robbed but I think that he made a mistake. I wonder what really happen, but to me right now, it seems that he was careless.

  • This is an interesting situation. What I don't understand is why he didn't ask for a check again. If I ask a question and someone doesn't respond, I ask it again. Either way, if he was robbed it's not his fault he won. So because he won and took the cash he deserved to be robbed? What are you supposed to do? Suppose this was at night and the banks were closed and you don't have a safety deposit box. I know I don't so what should I do...pitch a tent in the casino and sleep over until the bank is open? I do know that I would have been concerned to walk out with all that. That casino needs a discreet area to pay players that kind of cash.

  • I should have asked for a check again, for sure. I wonder why he didn't do that. Especially if it was late and he knew that the banks are closed, he should have insisted on getting a check.

  • He definitely should have asked for that cheque again.

If it was me, I probably would have booked myself into the nearest hotel and stashed it in their safe.
