  • I just posted a win in the winner screenshots section and I mentioned the temperature gauge at Microgaming casinos.

If you've not seen it before, I've attached a picture.

The high temperature (999 is the highest) - the more chance of the max coins being won (or its been a very long time since the max coins was won)
The lower temperature (80 is the lowest) - doesn't mean you can't win the max coins, it just means that the max coins was won recently.

I have found that if the temperature is at 999, the slot is very tight until the max win is won but if you have been playing it for some time, you may get a reasonable win (if you don't win the max coins yourself of course).

Where the temperature is set to 80 or thereabouts, you may find that the slot is very tight unless the max coins has just been won.  It does loosen up slightly but not a great deal.

The best temperature that I have found is around the 277/278 mark -  I find that I win more often and win more when the temperature is at this amount.

Has anyone had experience of the temperatures and what have you found works best?  I'd be really interested to hear what everyone has to say.

  • This is so awesome, blue and I really am grateful since I still have not quiet figured out how this works...

Here are some of answers I found by our members and it helped me to understand a bit more in the past.

If you read the "whats this" under temprature meter it states it dosent mean the chance is higher/lower for it to hit, you have just as high chance on any other slot since it can be 10 or a million spins away even with 999.9 degress.

I usually use the temperature gauge, and play something that is around 120-150 . That is a good number to play from.  Then find a game that you like in that range and you should do good.

  • Bear in mind this plays with odds and statistics over LARGE areas of time. Just because it hasn't won in a while does'nt really mean it's due soon
To put it into perspective, think of the odds of 1 in 3 to win on a scratch ticket. Just because you had two losing tickets, doesnt mean you'll win on the third. The odds may be based upon, of 1 million tickets, 333,333 tickets are winners.
So, you could theoretically buy another 333.331 tickets before ever seeing a winner.

As well, with slots, hitting a big one is a matter of tapping the reels at the right moment and having the random number generator stop on a combination. There are billions of cycles that generator runs through in seconds. So just because noone has hit big in a few months (oo, the temp is hot and high) still isnt any guarantee youll manage to stop the reels on the right combo..it's random

  • One thing is start take notice of a few slots cause like break the bank again never ever goes over 200 atleast in the fortune lounge group uselly goes at 150-180 for the past few weeks ive seen.

Im sure other slots can be looked at closer since its the few slots tons of people are playing where the chance is much higher to hit a jackpot atleast.

  • There are two slots that takes a huge amount of time for the jackpot to go when the temp is 999 (barring the progressives of course) and they are Mad Hatters and Agent Jane Blonde.

Maybe everyone could make a mental note of the temp of certain slots when they are loose or pay out big and when they don't pay out at all.  I guess bet size is also a factor but it would be nice to hear more about this.

Thank you everyone for your replies.

Congrats Taaadaaa for your great wins.

  • I've been watching the thermometers for 2 years now, and found out a few things that might be important when u use them.
First, with some games, like Alaskan Fishing or LOTR, a wild on every reel is concidered a jackpot spin.
As these games have stacked wilds (3 on every reel), and no winlines, this happens much more often than for example on Thunderstruck1, which only has one wild per reel and only 9 winlines.
The result is that the meters on Alaskan Fishing and LOTR will jump up and down like a squirrel on speed, while Thunderstruck will increase slowly.

You can see this best when you play at 32RED, the only casino I know that updates the meters almost in real time, while most of the other MG casinos only update them once per 30 minutes, or even only once per hour (palace group)

And I know from playing at 32RED (my fav. casino) that the meters on LOTR and A.F. can go from the low 80's all the way up to 999 in 15 minutes or less.
So the values on these games cannot be trusted in most MG casinos, because they wont show the true value.

For most other games I found playing them when they are in the low 80's is usually not a good idea, most games are cold as ice when they are, especially CentreCourt, SilverFang, Isis, etc.
The only exceptions I found are Break da Bank Again and Thunderstruck (and the clones, Lady's Night, A.J.Blonde, Spring Break)), these can be steaming hot when the meter shows a low value.

One thing I know for sure, a high value does NOT, NEVER guarantee a big win!
(if it did I would be stinkin' rich by now!)

Please note that this is all purely based on my personal experience.

  • Thanks for the great input slotbeuker.
