        Maybe.
Maybe not. Often new machines are so novel, so spellbinding, that people will take a crack at them whether they are loose or not!    Why give the players who would play these machines simply because they are new a break :-\  Why not just wait until the first wave of interest starts to subside.        In fact, there is no evidence that new machines are any more or less loose, or tight, than the old machines. It is an individual decision made by the individual casino as to where  loose or tight  machines will be placed. . Also , we know the RNG is programmed by the manufacturer as to the payout percentage, and the casino cannot change that chip without an incredible deal of red tape.
So next time you see new and exciting slots, think again if you think they are going to be looser just cause they are new.

        Hi PMM,

I absolutely, undeniable, without a shadow of a doubt believe that they DO tighten/loosen up machines. There maybe no proof they tighten or loosen the machines..but then again i am sure there is plenty we don't know.

The casino tells the manufacturer what percentage they want the machines to pay out at.  Once installed the chip cannot be changed without ALOTof red tape and sometimes even sending back to the manufacturer. It also cost alot of money to change the chips.  I believe in the idea the casino does place the looser slots in certain areas, but I do not believe they can tighten/loosen a machine once it is in place. Why not just change the machine out for a different machine all together and save money.                                                    PMM2008

I thought I had read that slots near walkways thru a casino floor are looser than ones in the back as to entice people walking by to play and conversely slots around table games are tighter so that the noise of the machines isn't distracting to the table players, who spend money quicker and in larger sums than most slot players.

nipsy510...I agree with what you read. Ecspecially about the looser slots being in the walkways instead of the back. Also about the machines being tighter by the tables. I never play a machine if it is to close to the tables. My land casino has the table area well away from the slots.  I however dont know if table players spend larger sums  than slot players. Just simple speed alone will cause the typical slot player to lose quite a bit more than the typical table game player.  I have more info on that idea if you are interested.
