  • i know its only a game but i must say seems like they must have employed young gamers like the the ones who invent horrific pc games...its very violent and im concerned if this is the way casino games are going...i wont be playing this game on a matter of principal as i cant stand anything to do with the mafia and violence like this.

  • I haven't played that slot but i think a lot of them are moving towards video games and movies that include a lot of violence.

You may very well be on to something and a new trend of slots might be on the way. It's weird in a way you brought this up because just last night i was watching some movie on cable and it was so violent and gory what this serial killer was doing to women.

I thought to myself how does the audience enjoy this! I was downright brutal.

  • I dont think developpers from NetEnt had a violence in mind when they made theme for scarface but rather a movie theme that was extremely popular and still is.

Sure, its quite violent, but violence is popular among the masses, its a fact that cant be ignored, at least major software providers will use every possible theme that is popular enough for their games (like Braveheart, Lord of the Rings, Tomb Rider, The Mummy, even Call od Duty that is based on a video game and is a very old slot now).

Now, im no fan of those mafia things either, nither in movies nor in a slot, but i think scarface is just too good release to be ignored (my honest personal oppinion).

  • It is a great slot but yes, it does have a strong element of violence. To each their own, I don't mind it because the slot has great features. There isn't a warning for violence when the game loads but maybe there should be. Could placing a rating on slot games become the norm in the future?

  • Yes, now that you mentioned it froggy, it really should be rated i think, people should always be warned whats inside, slot games included if they release themes like these. Sadly, im not optimistic we will see it in the future, as for example half of the MTV should be rated too and its not.

  • Scarface is a well-known movie and most of the people who were waiting for the slot are the one who loved the movie. I don't really think that the new tendencies in the industry were presented thorough this slot. Even if I had no luck with it, the slot was nicely done and reminded me of the movie. Most importantly, it's possible to find slots for all tastes.

The problem is what we find entertaining and interesting today; I don't think that this slot is a problem but I do agree with Froggy, maybe a warning sign could be a solution.

  • Well, I think a warning label might be silly. Labels for warnings of graphic violence, language and sexual content are there so parents can filter what their kids are exposed to. Everyone playing slots should be over 18 regardless and as adults we should be able to determine what content we choose for ourselves. I mean it's Scarface. It's not like when the bonus round comes round we expect him to run around adopting kittens.

    That was truly hilarious.

"Say hello to my little friend!  She's a Calico."

Yes, you are right but not all people older than 18 know about the movie and some of them don't like anything about the theme, any kind of violence or blood... so, the idea about the warning sign is not so silly.
  • I also agree that the slot features a lot of bloody scenes, but it's based on a very violent movie. IMO, a majority of online slots feature pastoral, innocent, cheerful themes, so I guess NEtEnt was just trying to create something to fit other tastes.

But when it comes to warning signs, perhaps one that warns about violence should be attached to games like this one or "300 Shields".
