Personally I'm not a big fan of prize draw promotions, especially those at online casinos requiring players to deposit and/or play to earn entries. Odds of getting a good prize are low yet a majority of entrants are guaranteed to lose their own funds while chasing a win.

Ya it is the unfortunate reality of prize draw promos but if you dont enter you will never win. There have to be winners at the end of the day and there is a chance it could be you.

For me, a competition like this is not worth entering purely for its own sake; one can certainly opt to participate but the best approach would be to play as usual and hope to get lucky rather than specifically target a prize. In other words, think of the draw as a potential side benefit rather than the main goal of playing at the casino.

Just want to make it clear that though my general views on most prize draws may seem critical, they do not necessarily reflect my opinion of casinos offering them. I played at Sky Vegas for a bit before it stopped accepting players from my country and, apart from some technical problems with a few games and the fact I never cashed out from a couple of small deposits and freebies, I was mostly content during my time there.

Skyvegas is generally a good site though, it is my number 1 casino that i play in the most,

That is mainly more so now since WMS launched in it a few months back

Also i saw Raging Rhino slot is going to be launching online soon too, i saw this slot in youtube videos in land based casinos, and i always wanted to play this, looks like i will be able too soon

Sky could have become one of my favourites as well had I been able to play there longer, especially with an expanded games selection... I was only really active for several months before I got the boot  At least I was informed of the country ban well in advance of the deadline, compared to other sites that seem to make such decisions overnight and give players little time to clear their accounts.

This promotion has actually put me off using sky vegas, spend hundreds here and got just 10 back, yet they keep advertisng nearly all the bigger winners as having only deposited 20 or so. There loss not mine.

@garychi - yes it has been the same for me, all i have won since the start of this promotion is £40, and i deposited hundreds and hundreds too, my last email i got from sky stated that i was only like 274 tickets away from a golden ticket, so that will give you an idea how many tickets i had earned, cos you need 1000 tickets for a golden ticket.

I have basically been playing every day of this promotion, i really wont be participating in any more of these types of promotions in the future, they are unfair

It does add fuel to my theory about how to treat these 'giveaways' because, as things stand here, players on the whole are likely giving more to Sky in terms of deposits and losses than they are getting back in the form of prizes. Some will win, of course, but most won't and many of them will naturally feel hard done by...

On the other hand, last week I opted in to Ladbroke's casino slots and table races held to mark the final days on Microgaming. I had no serious expectation of getting anything and played several slots and blackjack with a small bankroll (never reached three figures) for an hour or two, leaving as soon as I had made a comfortable profit.

It therefore came as a pleasant surprise to get an email stating I had placed in the table games race and won around $25 that I could play with in the Vegas casino. I lost it all in the end but, for me, it was a freebie anyway because I hadn't even bet as much in the download casino as I often had in the past without a similar promo.
