  • Hiya LCB'ers,

When Slots first came out with a zillion ways to win (ok maybe i am exaggerating) with 243, 720 and 1024 winning combinations i thought omggggg this is insane how could i possibly lose!

I knew there had to be a catch because c'mon the Slot is designed to be the winner most of the time. But i have never had worse luck in hitting a winning combination with all these ways to win. I have better luck on Video Slots that offer 50 or 100 lines.

It is mind boggling how there can be all these winning combinations and yet i can spin 50 times and am lucky to break out even on my bet.

Does anyone have luck on these type of machines? If so what are the lucky ones for you?

  • Honestly, I was never much into those "all ways" slots as they tend to call them. There is a reason why you pay for only 30 (Microgaming, NetEnt) or 50 (IGT) lines to play whole 243-1024 ways, when I put it that way it surely sounds cheap.

But main downside, the way I see it, is a very miserable win potential per one line. Main goal of these slots is to win across 50+ lines to score a big win, that is why they usually come with stacked or expanding wilds. But you need to be very very lucky to get it. I wasn't in the past.

NetEnt's Thunderfist was probably done best for me so far, while Microgaming's Immortal Romance is probably the worst paying slot for me in my gambling career. These later MG's featured slots like Battlestar Galactica and Dark Knight series are not bad, mainly cause they are filled with features that offer huge potential so you dont really think much about base game pays.

  • There are some good choices like dr mentioned. I must say that the absolute worst come from IGT for me. Siberian Storm, OMG awful!

  • i dont like those slots
to be honnest, in mg i continue playing the "old" slots (9 line, 15 line, 20 line)

net ent my favorites are dead or alive, starbust, and games close to that ones
the 243 ways for me means 0

  • My favorite are ones that have 25, 30 or 50 lines. I don;t play that often those with hundreds of winning combinations but I like NetEnt's Thunderfist and Microgaming's Thunderstruck II. smiley

  • With me, i love the 243 way slots, they was my fav ones, but now i am actually getting used to 10 line slots at skyvegas smiley, they can be very rewarding

243 slots are not very generous, i only actually ever had 2 nice big wins over £100 on immortal romance twice, but i do like them though smiley

  • I just love the 243 way slot Alaskan Fishing.  It's one of my favourite slots and a close second is Deck the Halls which only has 30 lines but has stacked wilds also.

You can win big on both of these slots but on the other hand, it is easy to lose money quickly as variance seems to be very high..

So here I have two favourite slots with massively different win lines.  The common theme is those stacked wilds.  I'm a sucker for them.

Oh yes, Alaskan Fishing is a great slot, i don't know how I forgot to mention it! I had some great wins on that slot.

    I love stacked wilds, too.
  • Alaskan Fishing has a great potential and is probably among the oldest MG all pays slots. Its certainly a slot to consider if you want to win big from a relatively small bet. Maximum line pay is pretty low, 250 euros only but goal is to get as many stacked wilds as possible (there is even a multiplier on them).

As for Siberian Storm, I never played it for real (nor any other IGT slot actually), Serbia is restricted jurisdiction and I can only play IGT games in fun mode. I wouldnt choose Siberian Storm over MG or NetEnt alternatives even if I could however, since they are more than 50% more expensive to play but do not provide adequately higher potential.

  • try microgamings bust the bank I hit best combination during free spins on 60p bet and when you hit free spins you get expanding wild on reel 1 and 5 throughout entire spins giving you more chance of winning! also this was my first time playing it I am impressed!

  • Today 3 more slots with 243 paylines came to my mind, The Untamed series (Bengal Tiger, Wolf Pack and Gian Panda). What do you guys think about those. Is anyone playing them.

I havent played them much so far, but I recall Bengal Tiger to be a very good one, I had some luck on it in the days just after it has been released. I also recall all 3 of them have a very interesting gamble feature, quite unique among the slots.

  • I played Untamed Giant Panda and I liked it a lot. It has some great features - I like Collect a Wild feature.

  • The only thing i will say for these huge ways to win is if they do pop and they are on a hot roll they tend to pay big. I have played Great Apes Slot at Cleo VIP that has 243 ways to win. I have had some luck on Bonus rounds where i have won between $400 - $500 a few times on max bet.

But like most Slots today they are geared to pay during a Bonus round only for the most part. Line wins offering big cash are rare. If you don't get the Bonus round you are sunk and even then as we all know that can be a huge disappointment at times.

That's the nature of the reels and why we call it the game of chance. Us gamblers are daredevils that is for sure!

  • it's a super bummer dropping that bankroll into a slot for the bonus then getting a crap return - I still prefer the all-way pays though...classic 5 and 9 liners just dont do it for me

  • Hmm, Im more for something that has 20-30 lines, 5 and 9 liners tend to hit rare for me and in the end I get kinda bored. It seems that situation is similar with all-ways slots, most of them (at least when it comes to Microgaming) are very high varianced and hit relatively rarely as well.
