- Hiya LCB'ers,
Did ya ever notice the body language of a player as they sat next to you or your about to sit next to them. It tells a story.....
Its pretty easy to identify the winner. Pressing the bottom gently, singing softly under there breath to the song that plays in the background and the foot is tapping, staying tune to the rhythm. Sitting erect and proud and sometimes even a little shake in the butt as they play! They happily move there leg that is resting between each slot as you sit down to make more room. Even a smile comes across their face as to welcome you and wish you good luck.
When they hit a nice win....they stop and look both ways at all the players on each side of them hoping someone will notice! Not without grabbing a cigarette to light first to bask in the victory of winning. The only players that even give her a glance of recognition is the player that is winning too!
The loser on the other hand would not begin to even look as their sour pusses stare straight at the machine they are playing. The posture of the loser is slumped in the chair. The keys are hit so hard with each spin that one feels any moment security will come over and warn her of the repercussions if she breaks the machine. The loser never hears the music playing, instead mumble a tune all their own....@&*&@%! Instead of scooting the chair over if you sit next to them they instead let out a deep breath that says "Go Away"!!!
The loser never takes their eye off of the machine for a second....probably as to let you know ...."i will not acknowledge you no matter what"! The player next to them could be gasping for breath as they just choked on an olive in their martini...and though they are proficient in CPR they let ya turn blue. Why? Ya just hit a jackpot on the machine....that's why!
Watching people go in with a bounce on their step and a smile on there face....when leaving you can tell the ones who lost. They walk ten paces ahead of their wife, hands in empty pockets with a look on their faces that almost dare you to look at them!!
Oh the life and times of a gamblers antics!!! Can you spot the winners from the losers?
I LOVED reading this! You were right on! We go to the land casinos maybe twice a year now that we are parents. I try to make my money last as long as possible. My husband does much better than I do. He always has cash out tickets secretly stashed in his wallet. It is such a surprise when we are down to our last $20.00 bucks. We have a casino weekend trip planned next week! My cousin is turning 21 and there is 8 couples going. I can't wait. Sad part is my husband tried to talk me into going all by my lonesome because of how my mood changes after I lose . When I am getting close to being broke I am the person you wrote about. It is a total transformation from the person that smiles at everyone when they first get there. I am going to try my BEST to do things differently this time. I want to enjoy my trip this time and try to focus more on other things...such as...sleeping in ALL weekend, visiting with my family, hot tub with my husband and waking up with a crown and coke. I want to have different mind set this time. If I come home a loser I still want to feel like a winner. I hope it works!

- I wanted to give a little update from our trip this past weekend. We made our plans over a month and a half ago. We were so so exited! I have a horrible back and messed it up two Wednesdays before our trip. Finally I felt so much better on Tuesday. It was temporary.
When we arrived at the casino after a 2 hour car drive I could hardly walk. Once we got to our room I stretched out my back on the bed. We made our way back down to the casino and after a few beers I had to go to the bathroom. When I got up I couldn't stand up straight. I had to stop and sit at three different benches before arriving to the restroom. I gave up and headed to my room. Thankfully my cousin saw me and helped me. The doorman asked if I was okay. He then gave me a wheelchair for the whole weekend. It was HORRIBLE. I will have to say I was good as far as losing and didn't ruin the trip in that way. I was in tears 3 different times trying to walk. It hurt so bad. I pray my back is on it's way to a full recovery.
On a good note my sister played the dollar wheel of fortune slots and hit a $1000 spinner. She came home with the $800 she took with her. I was happy for her. My cousin who turned 21 purchased the suite for Saturday night but it was a joke! He didn't even have a flat screen tv even though our regular rooms had them. He had set aside $800 to play on the $100 dollar slots and so much for the $25 dollar slots. I think he may have won $600 total. He had been saving for some time for his trip. I know he had a great time.
Next time, I have doubts I will go with my gut. We had a baby sitter for our boys for the whole weekend (which is rare). 9 couples were going and it was going to be so much fun. I wish I would have just cancelled until my back was better. Strange how it decides to go out. We didn't spend as much money as we had planned because I didn't play as much as I wanted so that was a good thing.
Sorry for the long post and sob story. I just wanted to update you on our trip.
- Hiya Bonus
Never be sorry for long posts. I love to read these kinds of stories, not to mention you had me hanging on your every word. Great story teller!! I am sorry about your back pain, there is nothing quite worse than that.
At least someone won on the trip!! Look at the bright side...you didn't spend all your vaca money so hit the land casino and treat yourself!! You deserve it for the suffering you had to do.
I definitely can relate to having to stop at three seats along the way. Although not from a bad back, more like waiting til the very last second to hit the restroom when i don't want to leave a machine!!
Thanks for the update.....wishing you feel better and another trip is in your near future!
- nice lips ^^
i have sat in both chairs, and i do so recognize these little behavior patterns:P
the funny thing is indeed, when i am the loser, i really hate when people come to cheer me up, sometimes there are these observent peoplle, which see you putting big bucks in, somehow i et the feeling they want you to go, and thats why they come close...
to be right at that machine when youre either broke, or had enough.
ive seen lots of htese wanderers in casino's, preying on the hard gamblers..
sometimes, when im sure i have one on my back, and im on my last money, i will decrease bets to a minimum, and spin every 4 minutes, really slowly, and smoke a lot, drink some whiskeys etc. to outlast them till the casino closes
really sad actually ^^
on the other hand, when im winning, i seen a lot of people losing next to me, and i always feel almost guilty for winning...
the mind has funny ways lol!
