  • Is anyone else like me, loves to play Video Poker? Well hopefully this is the place we can share some thoughts, tips, bonus codes and advice about where play and where not to play.
I don't know for sure, but I think I've done pretty well. I don't usually deposit a lot; usually $30-50 maybe $100 if I get a good bonus. Just hit a royal today at Club Player but since I can't get the no restriction bonuses anymore, the best code I could get had a 10X max cash out. Still not bad, thanks Club Player

If you can't get no restriction bonuses like me, I'll be happy to share the 150% code, any games, no playthrough and 10X max cash out. EXC150, $30 min deposit

I usually log in around this time or a few hours before, so I look forward to hearing from anyone else about Video Poker and as always if you have any good no restriction codes, please share. Also what casinos are hot or not.

  • Be nice to hear some of your hot tips Luckee7.  You've done quite well on the screenshots that I've seen of yours plus of course the one in your post.

Video Poker isn't something that I play often....I always forget about it in the casinos and yet i do quite enjoy the game.

Looks like you've got it nailed!

Looking forward to your (and other members) tips and tricks and of course, great bonus codes.

  • Still not bad, thanks Club Player

Also what casinos are hot or not.

I have only seen your last few posts, one playing Captain Jacks and now this one playing Club Player.  Its a great idea to share thoughts, but unfortunately your choice of casinos are horrible.  Captain Jacks is a known rogue and Club Player is part of the know rogue group, Virtual.  It is not fair to share evil casinos with players that dont know any better. As a matter of fact it is actually uncalled for to post codes to groups such as this.  I would not like to see anyone taken advantage of.

After reviewing your posts I have seen you promoting casinos such as the Virtual Group since you joined.  I have never seen anybody promote groups like this since I have gambled online.  I normally associate such with a  shill.
  • wow, well I'm kind of surprised by your response. First of all I have no allegiance to any of these casinos. The ones I mention just happen to offer the best codes for me. In the beginning they were no restriction 200% or more. So that just happened to be where I played. Maybe they are getting some bad comments but I have NEVER ONCE not been paid exactly what I had coming. I think most of the problem comes when people don't understand how the bonuses work and then feel they got screwed out of some winnings. Or maybe they didn't submit the documentation these places request. I've played at a lot of other casinos too, but was just seldom able to win. I did win a lot at Desert Nights but being overseas, it cost me $100 fee of my winnings to wire the money because they don't do overnight checks. Anyway for what it's worth I like winning probably just like you. Feel free to share or not share your latest and greatest codes and tips with us. I'm just trying to help all of us, yes including myself.

  • not sure what a shill is?

  • I would also like to say, a lot of my friends go to land based casinos as I do on occasion and most all of them shy away from even playing online. We are the exception I think, willing to take a chance. I've had an extreme amount of fun and won a lot, while not once getting screwed. I have posted in the "casinos to avoid" heading about some problems with chat support people who were misleading. Its' not all good at these places, you just need to know what you are doing. I've posted many times with tips on how to play, understand the bonus and to win.

Unfortunately those problems are not what makes the names you have mentioned rogue.  It is a know fact in the online gambling world that most of the casinos you play are the worst in the bunch. But dont just take my word for it.

Sharing information and giving tips are great topics. I am all for it as long as you dont mention codes for casinos that are evil.  Very easy way to check on the casino on google then research multiple articles to get a consesus.
  • I do love Video Poker and do play it online and at land based casinos. It's a great idea to share some tips and promotions. LCB does have a Video Poker page listing promotions and wagering requirements here:

    Video Poker.

But i do agree with bmwstack that promotional offers for rogue casinos is not advisable particularly for a newbie players who is unaware.

  • Just came across a special at Desert Nights Casino (USA OK)

    Daily 80% Video Poker
    Code: 80VPBONUS
    Deposit $50 or more
35x wagering, 27x slots, sticky, claim once

Check with live help for max cashout.

  • I may be a newbie here but I've played at the Virtual casinos, won and got paid correctly exactly 35 times over the past 24 months. Cherry Red (not part of that group I don't think) was the 1st casino I played at then Silver Oak & Rushmore. I won at those, then Slots of Vegas, Prism, Virtual Party City, Club Player etc. Back then (April-2010) I had to wait 6-8 weeks to get paid so I did go elsewhere for a while. But like I said I did get paid every time. Recently when I started playing at Captain Jack, Planet7 & Slotmadness I didn't know they had become part of that group. Too Late, I had already won and amazingly, got paid usually within 3-4 weeks, sometimes 2. I can't be sure but I think I have enough experience to say with confidence what I have about this group. I surely don't want to piss anyone off, like I said if you have another place to go for great codes on VP by all means share, (BTW thanks Blue) My Goal is only to win by playing online VP and sharing the word about how to do that.
There's a story here in the US about a little animal called a lemming. The story is they run in large numbers. When excited or running from prey, it's said the entire pack will run off the edge of a cliff to their death. Well I'm not a Lemming, I do the research (LCB great site for this), educate myself on the game including the rules and how to play, begin cautiously, and document my results. I have documented good results. Proof is in the winnings. Take it or leave it, I just want to help anyone else who loves winning like I do.

  • I did real well at Desert Nights. Being in the US it was harder to get paid. It took 7 week to get the wire transfer cost me $100 in fees (I think because the 1st attempt didn't work) my bank had a separate routing number for what they called a "correspondence" bank. Once I called them and found the person in charge of international wire transfers, got the correct number, the wire went through correctly. My fault. I found the chat support there very friendly. I won there 3 times within a few days. I played without taking any bonuses and I do plan to go back. I would recommend Desert Nights for sure.

  • Ok so Hopefully I've established that I know what I'm talking about.
How about some basics about bonuses:
"Sticky" (which most are) means they take it back when you cash out.
    EXAMPLE BONUS:
    Daily 80% Video Poker
    Code: 80VPBONUS
    Deposit $50 or more
35x wagering, 27x slots, sticky, claim once
1.you type in the coupon code 80VPBONUS
    2. you deposit $50
    3. they add $40 to your balance and you start playing VP with $90
    4. You complete the 35X wagering requirement which means 35X your deposit plus bonus or 35 x $90 for the wagering requirement: $3150
NOTE: be careful, sometimes at the point you complete the wagering requirement they will suddenly deduct their bonus from your play balance. Check with chat support, about your current wagering met so far. I've found the box stating the playthrough in the cashier section rarely to be accurate. If you suddenly notice you balance drop you might have completed your wagering requirement.
    5. Lets say you win $1000, (your final balance before you cash out)
you process the withdrawal for the entire amount. They will then deduct the $40 bonus they gave you and you should $960

  • What is the definition of a No Restriction bonus?
This one was at Slotmadness Sept 2012
    EXAMPLE:
: 200% Match Bonus (you deposit $50, they give you $100)
: All Allowed Games Except Blackjack
: No Playthrough (wagering requirement) as soon as you win, you can cash out
: No Max Cash-Out (no limit on how much you can win)
    : Redeem Code: BIG200
    : $30 minimum deposit
; Non allowed games  are: blackjack, Baccarat, Craps, Pontoon, Pai  Gow Poker, Sic bo and Roulette
: The bonus is NON cashable (it's "sticky") meaning they take it back with you cash out.

  • You're welcome luckee and good luck wtih it.  Let us know how you get on if you use it.

    blue

  • I played Desert nights, but uses a lower wagering bonus of 40% with 20X wagering for Video Poker, didn't win though. It was looking good for a while though, I'll go back.

  • Ok how about a TIP about Video Poker?
It's not always obvious what cards to keep if you have used a trainer you know. But it is the difference in winning and cashing out or losing your deposit. Here's one that I have trouble with:
When I get 4 of the same suit and 3 of them are part of a royal I want to only hold the 3. BIG MISTAKE, I've been burned so many times missing the flush, and I've never been led to a Royal that way. Keep the 4, take the flush win and keep playing. The longer you play the more chance you have at hitting a large win.

  • Another Video Poker Tip
This applies to double double Bonus poker, (not sure about others)
The odds prefer keeping the 10 along with the jack, queen or king of the same suit, when there are no other matches or royal cards and even sometimes with another royal card at the other end (excluding an ace, never keep it with just an ace)

  • Video Poker Tip #3
Almost all the time I find that winning or losing kind of comes in waves. I like to start betting small (always bet max bet) and if I see my balance going up all of a sudden over the course of 10 or so bets and it's been a while since I hit anything or even JUST if I feel it's been way too long since I've hit anything large, I'll up the bet. This accomplishes two things. 1. It allows you to play longer when you may not be winning and #2 allows you a larger win when you hit. This is how I won the last Royal playing $1 coins last time and my play balance was $22. Also don't stop when you hit that big one, more than once I've hit a second royal just afterwards on another game. Good Luck

  • Hey Blue, played again at Desert nights and did much better. Won $380
playing Video Poker of course (no bonus) I'll let you know the outcome of the international wire transfer this 2nd time. Hopefully it goes smoother

  • IMPORTANT Online Gaming TIPS
    1. If you take a bonus, read the terms completely and if possible copy and save them for reference should you have a problem later.
    2. Talk to the Chat support if you have questions, verify what they say with the bonus terms you read before depositing. (have the transcript emailed to you for your records. (they do sometimes mislead you and they do make mistakes)
    3. Be patient and polite, these are just working people like you and I, but they do have some authority to turn things bad.
    4. Immediately submit the information they request to eliminate any delay
    5. When you are waiting for your money, keep in contact them weekly or every other week. Don't be annoying just "check in" to find out the "status" of your withdrawal and make sure to include dates, withdrawal amounts, user name and your full name and address with phone.
    Good Luck

Best of luck with that and thanks for all these tips.  Keep em coming.

  • Video Poker Tip #4
This actually should be #1 because it's most important
Spend some serious time learning how to play. Seriously, there are free Video Poker trainers online where you select the game you want to learn and the trainer will tell you if the cards you hold are not the recommended cards for the best odds of winning.
YES a lot of the time it's obvious which cards to keep, but it's those few times that keeping the right cards is the difference in hitting a big win or just continuing to play and eventually losing your money.
Now I love the game, but I wouldn't if I didn't win more than I lose.
    Good Luck

  • Feel free to reply with a thank you if you think any of this helped you smiley

  • Video Poker Tip #5
Sensitive Issue maybe, but how much to deposit and also how much to bet per hand should be discussed.
This is important because you will likely have to play a while to hit a large win. You will need this balance to stay in the game until that happens.

Aside from changing your bet amount due to a long streak of winning, non-winning or aggressive strategy, my rule of thumb is as follows;(always max bet of 5 coins for all)

    * Less than $50, I usually bet .05 coins
    * Between $50-$200, .25 coins
    * More than $200. $1 coins
I've never bet higher than that or had enough to feel comfortable doing so. I think the max is $5 coins. if this is good for you just use the above as a percentage guide. (More than $1000, $5 coins)

    Good luck to all

  • I love Video Poker and is right up there with Slots for me. One of my least favorite variations of Video Poker is Deuces Wild. I know this is a popular choice among players but i don't really like the payout ratio. For example four of a kind pays 20 credits regardless if it is 4 Aces or not.

I like to play Video Poker games that are going to pay bigger payouts for hands. My ultimate favorite is Double Double Bonus and games that have "kickers".

    Lips

  • Hey Lips, Same for me, my favorite is double double bonus because the great payouts. Dueces wild is an entirely different game though I have hit the 4 Dueces before. I think the payout was 2000 if I remember right. I've spent a lot of time practicing my favorite game so I would be good at it. Not so much the others. The card choices are very different for the best strategy.

  • Video Poker Tip #6
Focus on a 2-3 specific games and become a pro at holding the correct cards. All the games may seem similar but I assure you if you play Jacks or Better the same way you play Double Double Bonus (my personal favorite) you will not do as well as you could. I bet I've played at least 20,000 hands on a trainer playing DDB, that's probably why I win more money on that game than any others.
    Good Luck

  • Video Poker Tip #7
Don't fall for the sucker hands
These are hands where you are dealt a 3 card straight, which you should only keep if you do not have a pair of any kind (or better) or an ace or better in DDB) Just keep the ace or aces in DDB
So many times I've let a pair go and tried for the Royal flush only to miss 4 of a kind. Much more fun winning than losing, amen?
    Good Luck

  • Video Poker Tip #8
Know when to leave and come back later, or at least try a different game.
We can speculate why, but the fact is that sometimes you can play and play and play and not win shit. It's hard to say when that is because I believe, when I'm losing that eventually I'll hit something big to take me back up or above my initial balance. Maybe I start to get the feeling I should leave when I do get that large win, but it's too small. At that point I usually leave once I feel I've got the most I can get for the day back.
If anyone else has any opinion on the exit strategy, I'd like to hear it.
    Good Luck

  • Video Poker Tip #9
Assuming you've taken the time to learn the game with an online trainer and you are keeping the cards you should, My tip is this: Don't overlook the importance of not holding any cards.

  • I just want to say, pardon me if some of my tips seem basic. I know a lot of us really know this game well. And we play it because (speaking for myself) we have more control on the outcome than other games. Also the potential for huge wins is extremely inviting.
Pardon me because it seems like I learned this game only a short time ago and, although there's plenty of advice about where to play, I didn't find much about specifics on the card choices, strategy, and the like.
I would love to hear some of your tips too and please if you have a different opinion about anything I've posted, I would love to hear it. I can always learn more. I'll be the 1st to admit I don't know it all.
Good luck, and I look forward to hearing from you

  • Video Poker Tip #10
This tip you may already have figured out, but when you start winning, it's usually a good idea to keep playing for at least a while. Don't mis-understand, I don't mean give all your winnings back. I usually play just a little more on the game I'm playing (or at least until I see the balance keep going down instead of down a little then up again to where I was) then switch to another game. An aggressive choice would be to increase your bet just after you hit big but before you play too much longer after a big win. I've won several Royal Flushes this way just after switching to $1 coin max bet. See my screenshots in the topic "Winners/Screenshots"
    Good Luck and Happy Holidays

  • Regarding my play at Desert Nights, My last wire came though exactly 17 days after my withdrawal. Not too bad. Much quicker than my withdrawal at Slot madness of 7 weeks and 2 days. I've just been notified by Club Player that my withdrawal there has been sent to their processor. I made the last withdrawal there 5 weeks ago this coming Saturday (1/12/13) FYI
Haven't had too much time to play lately so I'll check back in soon Hope you all Win Big, see you soon

  • 17 days is a very long time to wait for a withdrawal but obviously not as long as 7 weeks and 2 days!  That's just crazy.

Good to see you back luckee.

  • Yes thats a long time to wait.  Do you ever blow the balance back while waiting?  I know I probably would.  And also do you ever play club world casinos or jackpot capital?  If so how do you do there?

  • Yes, I have blown my win a few times getting impatient. I try to just forget about the money and play somewhere else for a while. I have played a club world and jackpot capital 4-5 times each just never won anything. I kind of prefer RTG. Club World was something different if I remember. Also I'm not sure where they are but I think the European casinos have to payout with wire transfers which are a pain. I think Club World is one of those, I could be wrong. I'll have to go back and try again for sure. Maybe I'll get back to Jackpot capital this coming week and let you know if I win anything.

  • Maybe I'll get back to Jackpot capital this coming week and let you know if I win anything.

If you do deposit at Jackpot Capital, don't miss the chance to win a chip - post your deposits HERE.

  • Hey Blue, what's up with the Players Rewards? I've got two now, and this last one I used to win quite a lot.
Doesn't seem to be any restrictions, just an occasional credit card with funds on it via the mail?
I'm very pleased I might add.

Isnt that just  a bonus they is sent in a differnt type of marketing?  What casino was it?
  • Its not a casino just a credit card called "Players Rewards Card" It can be used at any casinos accepting it online only. It says "Launched in July 2012, Players Rewards Card is the largest provider of third-party gaming rewards cards in the United States and Canada,...... I was able to use it to win at Club Player (sorry and I know I'll have to wait at least a month to get paid) It just came in the mail, 1st one had $50 on it, this last one $100. If I learn more about this I'll post it.

  • Payment update (post 1/11/13):
FYI The last win from Club Player I received 6 weeks and two days after cashing out.
All documents were submitted and approved previous.

  • Video Poker tip #11
Use the casino's money when you can. The online casinos can't lure you in with free meals and car give-aways. They use different tactics such as bonuses of course. The no restrictions bonuses are my favorites but only come from casinos desperate for business. Play there at your own risk because you will have to wait a long time to get paid. Many casinos offer bonuses though and part of your skill is finding the best one for the least restriction possible. One example was a recent one I found that offered 150% with 10X max cash out. Do some work and contact the chat people, that's what they do. You have a much greater chance of winning if you have more money to play with. Good Luck and may you get royally flushed.

  • Where do you get your "no restriction bonuses" from Luckee?  What are the rules on these bonuses?

    blue

  • Well the best bonuses are the ones with no rules... (no max cash out, no play through requirements and no game restrictions) That being said, I've only found those types of bonuses at the Virtual Group: Slots of Vegas, Club Player, and I guess new to that group, Royal Ace Planet 7, Slotsmadness etc. (FYI the Virtual Group is on the casinos to avoid list, I think because it usually takes 6-8 weeks to get paid, definitely not acceptable but I've paid every time) After you win a few times, they will no longer allow you to get those bonuses, so the best one I've found that they still allow me to take is 150% bonus code "EXC150"(deposit 100, they add $150) with a 10X max cash out (deposit $100, max cash out is $1000). Keep in mind they do take the bonus back when you cash out so if you deposit $100, you have to win $1150 to get the max cash out of $1000. That's what I won several weeks ago and again today at Club Player. Look for my screenshot in the  "WINNING SCREENSHOTS" area of LCB
Some of the best bonuses I've got from them in the beginning were 200-250% no restrictions at all and even more (400% for slots which I don't play) Anyway for what it's worth, I'd love to find some decent bonuses at more preferable casinos if you find any, please post them here.

  • Video Poker Tip #12
Play online to win, go to your local land based casino to eat and have fun.
The comparison is extreme; on the side of the land based casinos, there's the ringing of the games, great food, drink offers and free rooms to spend some inexpensive get-a ways with your spouse or friends.
On the side of the online casinos, there's the game, nothing else. 9 times out of 10 you'll hit the big wins much more often online. We all know why, overhead and competition. My Tip? play online more often (enough to pay for your trips to the local land based casino if you have to go)

  • Video Poker Tip #13
I know your favorite game, like mine, is Video Poker but you've probably played Blackjack to know that the biggest advantage the player has is the bet amount. Use that same advantage in Video Poker, just in an ultra conservative way. In other words if you haven't won in a long time, say 200-300 hands, you have two choices:
    1. walk away and accept the loss (which includes changing games) or
    2. Increase your bet

I've had some good luck at Aladdin's gold lately and wow do they pay quick, 8 days
I haven't asked about bonuses yet if you know of any good low restriction bonuses out there, I'd love to know what they are

    Good Luck to you

  • Alladin's Gold didn't treat me so well the last several visits, but you can't win them all.
I did really enjoy getting paid so quickly though, like I said 8 days. This next payment is now 12 days old , they said they're having some difficulty...anyway I know it will come. I plan to check out High Noon, which is another casino in that group, next.
I have a question: What's the difference between us Video Poker players and say people that love slots? I know both of us love to win, sure. That excitement of a huge win is hard to describe. I feel and I think the odds prove it, that I will almost always get my money back playing Video Poker. That's not been my experience with Slots. So does that make me less of a gambler? I think so and I think Video Poker is more odds and strategy and less chance & luck.

Have you ever thought of hitting a royal flush while playing $5 chips like I have? OH BABY how great that would be! When I was able to play and win the free $50 chip at Jackpotgrand last week I had my balance up to several thousand dollars. Since I knew I had met the playthrough terms and the max cash out was $50 I upped my bet to $5 chips and I played for a long time. I was hoping to post a screenshot of a royal win just for fun but I ran out of time to play and just cashed out.
    Good luck and later

  • Video Poker Tip #14
STRIKE when the casino is hot. The more I play the more I've realized that my winnings almost always come in streaks. When I win at a casino I tend to go back shortly after and win again, usually not as much, then less the third time. I've developed the habit of cashing out the 1st win then depositing again. I'm a bit  conservative when it comes to betting big but that would be the best time. Good Luck
