      Hiya LCB'ers,

I have to admit when i first started playing slots with 243 ways to win, i thought to myself i am sure winner with that many winning combos. Ok so i like to dream a bit!

Then there is the over 1000 ways to win slots. Now how in the world could we possibly lose right? Easy!!!!!!!!!!!

If we can lose with over a 1000 ways to win then i am not sure if that is encouraging or discouraging to know! Which leads me to the question, for any mathematicians in da house. Just how many combinations are there on a slot machine?

      Anyone know?

How many combinations there are depends on the slotmachine.
The longer the reelstrips are, the more possible combinations you can get.
A simple slotgame like the first Thunderstruck already has around 38 million different combinations.

Its all just smart advertising, as 243 winlines does NOT increase your chances of winning.
Why not? Because of the lower payouts.
For a decent payout, especially on the ones with stacked wilds, you need to hit loads of wilds.
Hitting 5 Frodo's for example on LOTR pays only 13.3x your bet, which is 4 bucks on a 0.30 spin.
5x10  only pays 0.25 on a 0.30 spin, which is still less than your bet.
But if you hit 4 rows of stacked wilds and a frodo, you get 3x3x3x3x1 = 81x 4 bucks is $324.- on a 0.30 spin.

But I've never seen 4 rows of stacked wilds on that game, and maybe I never will.

So as a rule, the more winlines, the lower the payouts per line usually are.

This is just a screenie of 50 spins, to show how brutal this game can be.
I did close to 500 spins this weekend, no free spins, highest win I got was 4.44 on a 0.60 spin.
      Wagered $155.- , lost $119.-
