Hi,
I want to know what land-based casinos offer to people if they come and play at their casino.
Here in the Netherlands it is not much, you can buy a casino try-out box for 35 euro's.
In that box there are 35 euro's worth of chips, free entry to Holland Casino (normally 5 euro) and two free drinks and something to eat (not physically in the box of course.........lol).
what do land-based casinos offer to you??

At the Indian Gaming casinos around me in California, they offer things like $5 or $10 once a week free... free and discount meals... free bingo for your birthday... if they have hotels they offer free or discounted rooms during the week... and you have a player's card at each that you put in the machines as you play and get instant comps added to your account that you can cash in right at the machine when they reach $5 or $10. Free T-shirts and things like that on special occasions or birthdays... And free beverages while you play, but they do not allow alcohol in most of them, so you can have soda's, coffee, juice, etc.

Here, you could get the coupons for free drinks right away but all players need to collect the points that they can exchange for drinks, food, cigarettes or they can use it to pay bills in the restaurants, bars or for buying gifts. A number of points depends on how much money a player spend playing.

I normally get anywhere from $5 in free play, with a 1 time rollover up to I've gotten $75.00 once. Normally I get free buffets or a free comp into the steakhouse they have on site.
Most of the times I can get a free room any day of the week. Even got offered a complimentary upgrade into a Junior Suite once.
I've also gotten VIP tickets into concerts, events, exclusive slot tournaments. Sometimes on the weekend they'll offer mystery bonus slot cash, with the same 1x turnover requirement.
They also offer free soda, coffee, and bottle watered to players as well.
Thats in the main casino I play at.
At another casino I get some free play but not as many perks as stated above, but I also get 1 free drink of my choice tossed my way every 30 minutes.
The only reason why I don't play there is because I hate Total Rewards properties. The comps are really geared towards the people who can toss some money into the machines or get really lucky. I just can't seem to build up enough tier points to even start getting enough perks to want to return on a regular basis. -

Ah Cheetah, you must be talking about Harrah's? I frequented their casino in Joliet a lot before Illinois went nonsmoking. Free rooms, free meals, cash back, etc. I thought they treated their customers well. I even got invited to a $1000 entry slot tournament a few years ago. It was at their property in Council Bluffs, Iowa. I got a free entry to the tourney, air fare, room, and meals. I was fortunate enough to win $8000 in the tourney. The top prize was $100,000. Would have been nice to win that!

There is definitely nothing like the casino is the USA. The comps are great whether it's hotel rooms, food or free cash. In the UK, I get points that may be used toward the restaurant and bar and periodically get emails and coupons for free cash. It's good but on a much smaller scale.

My main issue with Harrah's is if your not laying down the bet or accuring enough tier points. They really tend not to treat you very well. I realize you've had the complete opposite experience, but when you walk in once a month with a gambling budget of $200. I kinda like to know I'm being appreciated even in a small way. So I've stuck to Jumers in Rock Island. By far the best experience for comping and getting people what they want when they want it.
Just to be fair, really when I say the when they want it part. I really never ask for more than a buffet. When and only if the club player attendant offers a more upscale dining experience will I take it. Plus the comps I've been getting on a grade better than Harrah's properties.
Plus the one property, which is the "Harrahs" property, the one I love going to. They've been neglecting over the past few years. They used to have a party deck during the summer with blackjack and slots setup. Used to have a stellar buffet before they discounted the living shit out of it.
There now sinking more money into the Horseshoe property. Which personally I never really can win much out of them. The slots don't seem to play as nicely as there sister property and the table limits are god awful.
The other difference between the two properties, is Harrah's will only comp you with whats in your account versus the Horseshoe where they comp you based on your level of play.
If that gives you any other idea on why I'm upset over the whole Total Rewards system. -

this region around St Louis they give quite a bit like the Harrah's casinos that you speak of here.. scratching my head trying to count them all in this small city's area .. yea they drain every bit they can from the area , so to keep it going they do give out alot to get ya back in.. i honestly have stopped the land based stuff as i was perma banned from one in IL this last year, and well after winning a couple good draws.. there really isn't much thrill at them with all the rude , dirty, and angry patrons ya have to deal with in them.

The total rewards program is probably one of the best out there. I get offers for free trips to lake tahoe which also includes chartered airfare. The problem is that when I get my win loss statement every year, I've given them thousands of dollars each year.
While all the free things are great, I've paid for all of it. I think i'd rather play online at one of their properties just because it's so hard to hit anything substantial with all the tons of penny machines.
