  • I think I have finally figured out after all these years why the US can no  longer play the best casino software out there - microgaming. This might be old news to everyone, but does anyone know if I am right about this?

The US has always boasted free unrestricted trade so why were we suddenly banned from online gambling with other countries? It goes against everything red white and blue and mom's apple pie. Then, several years later, it dawned on me. There is one US organization that boycotts foreign products - the International Trade Commission or ITC. If someone in our country has a patent for an item and a company from another country is found guilty of infringing on that patent, the ITC boycotts all products infringing on that patent from entering the US.

Lately in live casinos, I have seen a lot of microgaming games. I think that the online mircrogaming software may have been infringing on the inventor of these games and was hence banned. Does anyone know if this is correct?

  • Interesting to note, though, that most of the online casinos use U.S. as their currency, termed 'platform'... where the casino iteself has been been banned for play to USA citizens. This is even more corrupt, in a way, because it generates issues such as interest, exchange and merchant issues that are going unlegislated - in other words, the complete opposite, in effect, of exposure, where money laundering (not that I believe there's such a thing, really) truly has its best chances of succeeding, because it becomes digital, completely unregulated, confirmed unconnected, then potentially exchanged to another currency, or not, and withdrawn in cash.
I always feel a bit off about using USA money to play on casinos where USA are not allowed; I have had a few accounts changed but most refuse to, once an account has been opened in USA "funds".
Even stranger to note that there's potentially a (land-based, though) gambling-related presidential candidate. I am too conspiracy-theory-minded to ignore it.
        Cheers.

WoW so long ago , how I miss microgaming.. wish they would come back.  smiley
  • Maybe if the US gets the "gaming friendly" President things will change.  One can only hope.

  • Many laws have been made in the name of health and public order ...and many governments have applied the principle of popular sovereignty in opposition to international laws that should guarantee the free movement of products and services.
And what 's the result? That often many of us can only play a few games on the sites where there are hundreds of slots .
On the other hand the politicians who enacted and applied restrictive gambling laws have probably won a nice bank account in some tax haven.
