It's a standard rule with free chips at Silver Oak that you cannot use multiple chips in a row - a deposit must be made in between. The note from customer service was to simply remind you that in order to be able to redeem the chip you won, you must make a deposit first

Thats fine but if that had been stated in the rules I would not have entered allowing for someone else to receive the chip. Usually contests dont have the same rules . But please feel free to select someone else Thank you

Yes, that should be in the rules of the contest.  Not only that but also wager requirements, restricted games, max cashout, min cashout, and all the other ways that the casino is putting strings on that free chip.

The contest money should be more like tourney winnings - spendable, withdrawable, actual money.  That's just my opinion. 

One day, maybe soon, we will look back on these casinos we play at and have a good laugh about things like this.  I'm pretty sure the USA regulations won't be set up so that we are abused by these bonuses as we are now.  I will be happy to see a more user friendly environment and real-time financial transactions!  Want a bonus?  Sure.  It plays the same as real money!  Want to cash out?  Click here and voila! there's your cash in your (bank) account!
