We finally went to see American Sniper a few weeks ago.

The movie in itself was really good (except for the fake baby, really.... millions of dollars to make a movie, realistic war scenes and they use a plastic doll. )  Anyway...

What really struck me, moved me, is still with me was.... the audience.  During the last 7 or so minutes of the movie the audience was SILENT.  When the movie ended, the silence continued.  As people rose and exited the theater, not a sound.  No whispers, no popcorn bags crinkling, nothing. Utter complete silence.  It was, to me, more moving than the movie.

Anyone see the movie and experience the same thing?

Well, I'm sorry but I'm pretty much disappointed. It was so obvious that Chris will be killed (last 20 minutes were like "now? now?" ) So he went back home finally, I thought that someone will kill him for that $180k reward at his own home or something like that...

***I didn't know it was biographical film so I was expecting something more I never heard of Chris Kyle before, also I'm not from USA so perhaps that's making a difference.***

Thanks for taking the time to go see it.

        Bummer.... about the disappointment.

I am in the US.  I believe this is the first time a movie came out at the same time as a trial going on. In the last few days, the gunman was found guilty.  He actually killed Chris and a friend of Chris's.

So sad he was deployed so many times only to come home and be shot down by someone he was trying to help. The killer told his roommate he wanted Chris's truck, which he took.  He was caught driving it in a high speed chase.

Not sure what too 'American' means but the title is American Sniper so I guess it would be about an American.

perhaps he meant all of those "I do it for my country because my country is amazing and beautiful and.." That's what I hear in most of USA movies (Chris was telling it at least few times)

I just watched this movie and I thought it was good.. or maybe average, nothing special but not wasted time either. I admit having higher hopes, I rate this movie 3/5.

I don't like war-themed movies. I 've heard that Clint Eastwood did a great job and I like Bradley Cooper, but I don't think I'm going to watch it.
