And How Was Your Summer?

You know summer is just about over with a long Labor day weekend ahead.  This had to be the hottest summer on record and i am looking forward to Fall and cooler weather. I feel like i missed out on a lot of backyard bbqs and doing outdoor summer fun stuff due to the heat. Besides having an electric bill that has been outrageous to have the air on day and night all my flowers didn't want to grow the way i wanted them to. Just seemed like i couldn't water them enough. But i sure did have a bumper crop of peaches hahahaha!

How has everyone enjoyed their summer?

Yes it sure was HOT,HOT, HOT here Lips and i couldn't keep up with  watering my flowers either...poor things!

I'm leaving for Sedona Az. in 10 days..woohoo more heat! I'm hoping it won't be too hot since we'll be in the mountains..
because I sure don't want to be stuck in our cottage for 5 days

We are going to give ourselves plenty of time there and back to hopefully do some sightseeing So I guess I'll wait untl we're back to let you know how my summer was!! .

Living in las Vegas our summers are very very long but I have to say this was the first one where the heat bothered me.  I feel like I missed out on some activities just cause I didn't want to deal with the brutal heat this summer.  My AC broke in the car and it took 2 weeks and 2 repair places to fix it.  The AC broke the following week in the house so we had a few days of feeling ugly and sticky..I too am looking forward to wearing sweatshirts and boots (fashion not weather driven) and I worked my a** off most days since my business partner took the summer off having twins in May..I did manage to take a 3 day break in August and got a suite on the strip and tried to pamper myself and pretend I was on vacation (not nearly as much fun as I imagined it to be)..I am starting a new business so I look forward to that journey and where it might take me.

Texas.  Most days over 103 degrees.  I barricaded myself in the bedroom 23 hrs a day, with my one little AC.  Kept it around 83 in the bedrrom.  And that went on until about 5 am, when it cooled down below 80 and then started making it's way back up.

I took the little A/C out of the other bedroom, and now my room is staying between 73 and 76,.  Much better.  Since I avoided going out into the rest of the house most of the time, my electric bill was reasonable, between 50 and 80 bucks a month. 

If I went outside, I had to take wet rags and bottles of ice and just kept wiping myself down with the cold compresses.  Needless to say, I only made it out a few times.  Too hot. Too hot.  Way too hot.  I want to cut all my hair off, it is so sweaty.

Summer here (Netherlands) was hot too, but i had a great summer, kids on holiday, and there young so they didn't mind going on holiday with their parents. ( that will be when their older) But anyway, I, we, everybody in this house had a great summer, and although it was extremly hot whe had a great 7 weeks, now they are back to school, and that is also nice, it gives back some "quiet" time for my wife.
But overall i give this summer a 8+

Rain, rain and more rain!  June and July were apparently the wettest since records began.  August hasn't been so bad but it hasn't been great.  I would guess we have had about 3 weeks in total, of really nice summer weather.  But that's the English weather for you.

It was very hot here, too. It was one of the hottest summer ever if I uderstood well... I wish we had some of that rain, Blue. I still haven't done anything special, no vacation and no plans yet.

Hot doesnt describe the scorching weather in the southern usa. Autumn is pretty sweet though so i got somethin to look forward to. I def cant wait to turn off the AC and bring down these summer bills.

The outside beer gardens took a hard beating this summer. It all boiled down to inside happy hours. I wasnt so happy about that and by the sounds of it we all got cheated by a sweltering summer.
