  • Hi Gang:
I try to never use a ATM at the casino.
For one, I go in with what I am going to spend and that's it.  However I must admit I have used an ATM once or twice.  wink
Can you believe the fees associated with it? I was charged $1.50 from my bank for it being a foreign ATM withdrawl, and the casino got a fee of $3.00 for using their machine.  Times that fee by the number of people you see on a daily basis using the ATM and it is incredible.  The casino gets rich off those fees alone.

ATM machines are the "REAL" one armed bandit in my opinion. laugh_out_loud

  • I't 3.25 at the casino I go to and would not want to admit how many times I have used it.  Thank the Lord there is a max per day that I can take out. lol

  • LOL! PMM2008

YES.. been so bad it, ATE MY CARD!
(not because of insufficient, because the machine malfunctioned)
But at first i thought.. omg... WHAT AM I GONNA DO NOW??  :'(
  • How about the stroke of Midnight as you are waiting for PAYDAY, and your check to be available to you at 12AM. laugh_out_loud

Tony: you are so right, no one cares what the fees are when your gambling. We'll go back time and time again.

  • Standing there right at the ATM just READY to swipe at the stroke of midnight  grin

  • OMG, i am one of them who have been tapped out and standing by the ATM to wait for the clock to strike midnight..its the nexy day according to the bank..and you then have your days max. to take out.

Done that more times then i want to admit. And when your in the middle of gambling you DO NOT care how much the service charge is.

    great post Pam

    Tony

Lordy, Lordy, lordy! How I identify with that!

Recalling the times I was playing at the cardrooms in LaCenter WA (They used to be downtown Vancouver, but were banned by the Town Council) and I well remember losing a bundle, looking at my watch and waiting 20-30 minutes for the bank to "Refresh" the clock on the ATM.

Luckily the bank was right across the street, so I didn't have to pay the fees.

Now Spirit Mountain in McMinvillie, was a different story.

The casino was 12-15 miles from the nearest bank ATM, so yeah, $2-$4 in fees for every withdrawal. But on the plus side, they were "Slide" types which (at worst) would simply reject card.

  • Oh my goodness, yes I have too many times. Everytime I go I tell myself I am not going to use the ATM, but I do it anyway.

  • I bet my bank thinks I am nuts.

"According to this you withdrew how much to gamble at the local casino huh;D"

I say "Mind your own buiness!! laugh_out_loud
It's my job, I was working. "LOL
      cheesy cheesy cheesy

  • Hey PMM....I've got an even worse case senario for ya.....how about not even waiting until midnight and instead after you have reached you max withdrawl for a 24 hour period, you use the option to CHARGE you debt card at the atm machine.....$30 fee for that option and I am guilty as charged!!!!!!  Several times lol...........most casino's also have a check cashing window somewhere in the building......guilty of that also, and the rates for that is even more outrageous!!!!

  • Like a major DUMMY I did a cash advance with my CC and they charged me over $30.  Never will do that again.

  • As Wilma Flintstone said as she ran out the door...

    CHAAARRGGGGGE IT!

And Fred, with his.. BETBBBET BET BBBEETTT BET BET

  • OMG, SOOOOOO MANY AND TOOOOO MANY TIMES!!!  I AM SO BAD, NOW I DON'T EVEN TAKE IT WITH ME!!!! UNLESS I AM GOING TO BE THERE FOR A FEW DAYS AND I LEAVE IT IN MY ROOM, THEN I HAVE TO THINK TWICE WHEN I GO AND GET IT.  wink

  • lol.....leaving the card in my room doesn't help me one bit....just makes me mad that i have to walk all the way back to get some money!!!

  • Been there...Done that....
                laugh_out_loud Satansmuff!!! cheesy cheesy cheesy

  •       Doh!!
I did it again! I used the ATM at the casino.  Another $4.50 in wasted fees.
Before I left, I hit the bank, pulling out what I wanted to take.
Was it enough? Nope, I hit the ATM for another $100 at the Casino.
Why in God's name did I take my ATM card in?
The bright side of this story is that last $100 is what I needed to get the game to turn for me, and it began hitting. I ended up getting back my money I had lost earlier.  Phewwww..... cheesy
  • isn't it funny how us gamblers think that
$4.50 in fees is outrageous and a total waiste of mnoey........but we think nothing of thowing a hundred dollar bill into a slot machine and when it's gone in 5 mins. instead of thinking...well that was a waiste, we say....THAT WAS FUN.....thown in another one!!!!! shocked

  • LOL satansmuff, that is so true. I have done it many times and regret kicks in the next day.

  • How about the day when ATM machines are available right on each and every slot machine you sit down at?  You no longer have to leave your machine for any reason other than using the restroom facilities. laugh_out_loud
                                It may happen.

    Good idea? Bad idea?

  • oh god i hope not could mean big trouble

  • Bad idea for me, if I have to leave my machine to get money from the atm I would be less likely to get more money
