Anyone up for the LCB online garage sale?

Just wondering if there is any interest in a FB or LCB.com online garage/yard/thrift sale?  I know we live all over the planet, but we can ship things.  I wasn't thinking we would be selling BIG or EXPENSIVE stuff that costs too much to ship.

We all need a little spending cash every now and then or all now and then, and I'm sure many of us have some interesting or useful things to trade around.  Even things for free plus shipping, perhaps?

We would just need to post pictures and watch the posts for interested members, arrange paypal payments, and follow some general friendly guidelines?

How about you?  Would you want to buy or sell or give away your unwanted but nice or fun items?  Would you want to have it here, or on a facebook page?  I'm willing to do some of the work getting it started, if anyone wants to participate.

I think it could be a fun venture and a good addition to the site.  Reply to this post with your thoughts.   

It's a good idea but as far as I know shipping might cost a lot more than the items themselves, depending from and where you are sending them.

That's possible, but if we in good faith don't try to make off of shipping/handling, we can keep the cost down. 

Hopefully items would be inexpensive enough and we could be flexible enough to make it worth it.  Heck, it costs me almost $5 just to drive the Oldsmobile into town, so spending $5 to get a flashy lighty toy or deck of cards that would be delivered to my door wouldn't be so bad.

Also want to add that this should be a private page or topic, for LCB members only.  And we would have some courtesy rules.  Could also have a "In Search Of" method so you could post things you might be looking for.

Chilly your idea is really a creative one and we could call it LC eBonus bay he he he! In a perfect world that could be doable. Unfortunately to have it through LCB would be impossible because of the liability for members with delivery issues, unhappy purchases etc. And even if it is lightweight, items to send internationally can be quite expensive.

I thought it would be so cool to have an LCB shop where members could by gifts maybe even in exchange for a point system. But i think the big problem would be shipping on a global level though.

So, if those who were interested would like to join a private Facebook page, would that be objectionable if we somehow gave it a name to reflect the forum?  Take time to talk it over as needed.  Of course I can create anything I want on FB and invite whomever.  There would be a mandatory "I've read the rules" sign off before being allowed to participate.  I think that we know each other well enough to play nicely together, and know ourselves well enough to know if we can or can't afford or do or don't want to pay the required shipping costs.
I don't want to just make a page for the sake of it (I've got enough online garage sales with strangers already), but I think if we have at least 5 people who would at least join and give it a shot, well, it will either catch on or it won't.

Unfortunately no chilly you could not use the LCB name in any other capacity then what is right here and it is again for liability reasons and legal purposes as well as it is not our venue because we are a gambling forum. If you do choose to do a FB type garage sale i wish you much success but we can not allow advertising for it because it is against LCB policy.

Perhaps creating a FB page in your user name can gain you recognition because you are an active member and are pretty well known around LCB and can be easily found that way.

Whatever you decide and pursue i wish you the best of luck in your endeavors but LCB can not support or advertise for it.

If anyone would like to ask me about online garage sales on FB in general, or similar online sale/trade/donate pages that anyone might set up, let me know. 

I'm not advertising for any page that currently exists;  just PM me or send me an email and I'll be happy to discuss my private stuff in private or help you locate a sale site in your area.   

*If* I should ever create a Chillymellow and Friends Online Garage Sale or similar page, I won't advertise that either.  but I may let anyone who has privately messaged me about it and invite them to come on in.  No affiliation to this site, whatsoever. 

I think any site I administered would be full of more than just sales.  I'd ideally like it to be non-profit and full of free and trade items as well, and I'm sure we could do interesting things like barter experiences in life (you tell me your story, I'll tell you one as well).  Well, enough about me and my dreams, lol...if you'd like to lock up this topic, that's okay with me.
