Well, i bought one of those Aluma Wallets..
Opened it up and took it out of it's package, i had a hard time pushing on the little button that opens it up, finally it opened and the insides just fell out.. right to the ground.. i picked it up and noticed, each side of the accordian style inside was just cheaply glued to the casing, also it was made out of a cheap type cardboard covered ina very thin layer of a type of vinyl.. i could of just superglued it back in place, but then i would be constantly dealing and struggling with the button that opens it.. i was disappointed and took it back. I appologized to the store clerk as i was just in there purchasing, now i'm so quickly returning. She said.. don't feel bad alot of people are returning them.
TV makes things look so good, so amazing, so easy we just got to have them.. but almost every time i purchased something, i was disappointed.
Ever done or have had any of this happen with something you purchased "as seen on TV" ?
- Yes I've had several run ins with the "As seen on TV" items.... I have had one good experience and it was with the Snuggie. I bought one from Walgreens, last Xmas, and i must say it is warm and fleecy and I'm able to do whatever with my hands while still being covered up in a blanket, lol.
PS They also have Snuggies for dogs now too lmao
- "Ass seen on TV!"
I saw a big display of those ASOTV items the other day on one of my rare visits to a non-grocery store. I found it interesting that it seems the item most intriguing to the shoppers at this store were the pajama pants. I judge that by the large number of opened boxes with part of the pants sticking out so that the person could feel what they actually felt like. I have to admit, I had to grab a feel of that myself. Last year I bought a magic jack. Well worth the money even though it was sometimes a pain in the as seen on tv...
- I had a snuggie. It was pink and I loved it. Not sure what happened to it... :'(
I flip through the shopping channels to see what they've got going. The cooking stuff is the worst. Have you seen that stirring tool. Can't think of the name but you let it stir all on its own. Set it and forget it! Ah remember that? That was the catch phrase for the rotisserie sold on TV. I wanted that but I was only about 12 so I never got it.
I've had Bare Escentuals makeup. The face powder is great but the other stuff is not worth it.
This is a really fun topic.
- I had a couple experiences online shopping. I bought a Sephora makeup kit that claims to be valued at $450 for a bargain price of $50.
The picture made the kit look huge! I had visions of this massive makeup fun only to get it delivered and it is about the quarter of the image displayed and oh so tiny!
- This i bought years ago.. it actually works great.. i have no complaints and it does just as it says.. chops with ease
This Mighty Putty.. this was almost a joke, it did not work, i was sent enough of this stuff to filla swimming pool, you're supposed to kneed the puttyish mixture (comes in clear plastic tubes) compress it onto a leak and it's supposed to stop it, well it doesn't! i kneeded it right to the trash..
This topsy turvy Tomato Tree.. all it is is just the planter, no dirt, no starter seeds, no nothing, for some reason i always thought it came with everything, i think it's the way it's advertised, theres no mention of needing to gobuy the most important thing about it..lol it's cheap.. you have to go buy the dirt and a small, already started tomato plant to place in the planter
I would love one of those Snuggies, and Lips i did the same thing only it was perfume, supposed to be like 500.00 worth for 50.00.. when i got it the perfumes were some i never heard of some stunk, and were about.. half of a half Oz, but on TV it showed much bigger bottles, decored, more fashional and known brands.. i read the small print when i got it, (perfumes vary)lol
This was another thing i got.. love it, bought them on a TV ad special, buy one get one free, garranteed for life and they work great, i use them for alot of things, great easy extra tables when needed
My next purchase i got my eye on "easy feet" lol
Oh.. this wasn't advertised but i saw this door matt... i love it.. lmaoooo
