  • Looking for a good diet to drop a few pounds and wanting to know what works for some of you folks. Have not found any I can stick to. Open to suggestions please.

  • More activities, like walking, running, climbing, bikes, swimming and so on cheesy also drink more water, don't eat and drink junk, including alcohol wink and of course, don't eat at night cheesy

  • And don't over-eat.  When you feel comfortable and no longer hungry, stop eating.  Try and eat the best part of your meal first so when you are "comfortable" you won't want to eat the rest of your meal because you saved the "best til last".

  • Too many dieters think that they have to almost starve themselves. You must eat in order to lose weight so keep it healthy. Limit fried foods, starches and alcohol. Have healthy snacks and be sure to eat enough. Lots of water like Armage said and don't eat say after 6pm.

    I've known people that have gone on low carb as well as low fat diets including myself. Low fat is the easiest to incorporate into everyday life and it will be my choice this new year!

    Just avoid carbs especially sugars. Be careful with fruits or honey, as well, because it's still sugar.

    Concentrate on vegetables, chicken and turkey meat. I also think that fats are important and I suggest you use olive oil. Eat less but more often to speed up your metabolism. 

    And very important is to move, do anything. Go for one hour walk around the neighborhood.

  • Everyones body is different and will react to diets in many ways. Some people, like myself can eat whatever they want and never gain a pound. Others cant eat a raisin without gaining weight.

    You have to first declare what body type you have. If you are one that always has to watch what you eat, then just eat smart. The biggest thing is to knock out the sugars. Portion control is also important. The best way to eat healthy and lose weight is to eat 6 or 7 small portions throughout the day. You will keep yourself from snacking on junk food in between meals this way.

    Plus you will feel better and always have energy making it possible to workout and excercise

    The best way to achieve weight loss is self control, excercise and dedication. It wont happen overnight and can be difficult to stick with it. Dont beat yourself up when you slip or dont lose any weight for a week.

    You will likely see a dramatic drop in weight loss the first few weeks as your body is being shocked from a change in habits. Once it adjusts, you will see a sharp decline in weight loss. This when you need to switch it up again and change your routine once more. Many people fasil once they stop seeing the results. Just keep at it and switching things around a bit, mainly changing workouts and excercises to keep your body guessing and still reacting to what your doing.

  • I'm going to go on a low fat diet. Carb diet don't work for me since not a big meat lover. There are some crazy diets out there that's for sure.

  • A couple of years ago I started eating a handful of Mike and Ike's all through the day.  I dropped so much weight friends and neighbors thought I was sick. 

    I don't know why it worked but it did.  Odd.

    You got that right buddy. But I can eat all the steak, bacon, eggs and cheese I want. Steak everyday ain't so bad lol

    Perhaps everyone could start by simply calculate approximately HERE how much calories they need. Counting calories isn't as complicate as it seems, it becomes a routine job after a while. There are many programs and even apps for that; they make it very easy.

    Completely agree. If you go to extreme you are just setting yourself up to fail. We need a diet we can live with long after we reach our goals. I think keeping it off is harder than the diet itself.

    Now wouldn't that be awesome to have. No wonder they are all in such great shape. Those private chefs can whip up some pretty amazing meals i am sure. And to have a personal trainer come to your house and have a full gym in your home makes it soooooooo much more easier and less room for excuses.

    I'm a fan of the low fat diet too, it's the most reasonable of all. The carb diet helps to lose weight but you are eating massive amounts of meat which isn't the best for you either. I try to stick with 20 grams of fat a day.

    I think that choices of food  is up most important.  Try not to indulge in all the delicious fats, starches, and mayo, and butter.  Limit or omit fried foods unless it's your birthday  wink  This goes for all the delightful sweets that satisfies cravings. 

    No soda, Drink water.

    Get UP, Get Out - be active and get some exercise.
    Indoors? No problem, clean the house - get off your butt and away from the screen! lol.

    I use to weight 180 pounds before i went on a diet now i weight 155, lost  about 25 pounds and looking healthy as ever.
