I think it's awful and very sad. Yes he led a poor lifestyle but to imply that anyone deserves this is inhumane. Hopefully he puts his celebrity status to good use and like Rosebud said, and I couldn't agree more, it's not the death sentence that it once was.
On a side note, he seemed very detached from any sort of emotion in that interview and the second half of it. I remember watching him as a kid in the movie Lucas from 1986 so I suppose it's more disturbing to me for sentimental reasons. Sad. -

I embrace his bravery in coming forward and face the unmerciful media and those who shook him down and blackmailed him for cash in exchange for silence. I love this guy and his rebel and reckless lifestyle he led definitely comes from a place deep inside that is empty.
It's been 4 years and he appears to be still healthy. Look at Magic Johnson he was diagnosed 25 years ago and he is still going strong. Lets hope that is the case for Charlie Sheen. -

Wow poor Charlie.. not only does he have to deal with having HIV but to have to deal with people threating to tell if he does not give them money.. some people are pure evil.... I have always liked watching Charlie and i'll continue to do so no matter what.. people who judge him for his life style well .................... was best said by feeling froggy post . it could happen to anyone , even someone close to you.

With all due respect Markotik having any disease i feel is "a big deal" some more so than others and this is one for sure no one wants to be plagued with. Especially so because of the negative connotations that people place on it out of ignorance as if it is isolated to only those who are gay or play around with hookers therefore deserve it.
Medically we have come a long way with AIDS unfortunately it still is a potentially deadly virus. I can't even fathom someone i love being diagnosed with this awful virus must-less someone like Sheen in the limelight and all the ridicule he has to endure. -

Well, Charlie is hilariously entertaining. I loved him Ferris Bueller's Day Off
& Wall Street
However, the characters that we fall in love with are not Carlos Estevez. He is a controlling & abusive man. He dated a friend of mine 25 years ago. He beat her regularly & cut every piece of clothing she owned into pieces.
As provoking as her behavior may have been, I have no tolerance for men who beat women. It is such a pu**y thing to do... ignorant and cowardly. It's a shame that he has lost so much time with his children. There is no excuse for Carlos, he has every resource in the world available to him but chooses to continue to hurt himself and the people who love him.
I don't have a religious bone in my body, but maybe everything does happen for a reason. Maybe this will be the rock-bottom that shakes him to the core of what matters in life. It's not what any of us think of him. It's what he thinks of himself. As soon as he forgives himself, he will be able to love himself and others wholeheartedly. -

I should have explained in more details, Only to hear the news is "frightening", "disturbing", and "the biggest deal ever", I was talking about the time when people realize that they can continue with their lives. Also, being HIV+, and having AIDS is not the same thing, AIDS is actually a disease.
Of course, they need to take extra care, to follow the therapy, but most of all to have support from family and friends to get through those tough times. I don't say society because society is mostly there to judge - one can never have society on their side. Fear is powerful.
I also need to point out that I'm talking about living in developed countries where adequate medical care is available.

I don't see anything extraordinary here. Nowadays being HIV + is not such a big deal, it can be kept under control. I don't feel sorry for him, there's no reason for that; he can go one with his life.
I think I know what you have ment because nowadays the pills can keep even an AIDS patient alive for a very long time and it is going better. Being HIV positiv is not good news but it is not that bad news any more. Not to compare with the time Freddie Mercury died for example. I think Charlie Sheen is going to have a long life. Her problem is probably alcohol or some other drugs, not HIV. I am wondering he shared this with the public but selfabsorbed as he is, he did it. I am a little bit sorry for him and I wish him some happiness because apparently he is a very unhappy person. I wish him furthermore the wisdom to make better decisions for the rest of his life, which seems to be more important. -

Interesting viewpoint: I have not seen the Today interview but know it was a carefully staged publicity move to get sympathy on Sheen's side ahead of the lawsuits he faces for deliberately exposing unaware partners to HIV and other STDs - and he has allegedly known of his positive status for much longer than claimed.
Yes, he is a talented actor but a mess of a human being, as shown not only by what you say he did to your friend but persistent established reports and unconfirmed rumours of serious misbehaviour - including sexual/violent assault - towards others over the years.
No one ever 'deserves' to catch any disease or illness, but the fact remains Sheen consistently and repeatedly made the reckless choices that led him to where he is now, and I believe he has yet to take full responsibility for his actions and their consequences. -

wow.... I didn´t expect such a topic in a casino forum. I could not resist to open it, read it and sadly have to admit that after I got diagnosed, telling it my "friend" it only took a few months till he started to blackmail me into a contract that gave him total power in the company where I was responsible for a decent cashflow - he lived on that. I was scared about my family could be worried and suffer from my mistake.
It took years till I managed to break up and start my own project. since I have to take regular medication my life has completely gone. The pills´side effects are compareable to those you get when treated by chemo. usually the human body quickly adapts - not always. Those ugly things in the past (the blackmailing is only one of the less severe things that creature did) makes it hard to survive.
To be blackmailed for such a thing - which is a permanent status - is unstandable. Even worse The guy I got that crap was introduced to me by said "friend". I will never know for sure if that was purpose - however since I know who it is - i wouldn´t be surprised. He never ever has any feelings unless he grows his own power to feed his ugly narcisstic sick ego.
People who blackmail others should be put into prison until they rot.
blackmailing is an absolutely evil, psychopathic crime. I could never ever blackmail anyone.
I don´t know charlie sheen - I never even watched one of his movies or shows. However whoring around without protection and telling also is dissocial. Might be connected to the pressure he faced while nbeing blackmailed...? I cannot judge him though. -

Magic Johnson admitted He have HIV in his press conference held on November 7, 1991. Up to now, he is still alive. One of the greatest basketball player, and Charlie Sheen got that disease for having had many sex partners. As they say, in every action, there is an opposite reaction.

I just want to say that I have enjoyed Charlie Sheen in many of his roles. I, for one, am not going to judge his past behavior and connect it with the situation he has found himself in at this time.
I have not been a saint in my lifetime and I have paid for it in more ways than I care to say. I don't think that I "deserve" it any more than Charlie Sheen does.
I wish for him the best and hope his life continues on as pain free as possible. -

ALL the time.. the drugs & women? seriously.. he did it on HIS terms.. good for him, and now he's gona die, yup, just like the rest of us..the only difference is he's pretty sure how his is gona end and for those women that are gona "sue him" for exposing them? they're idiots.. and if your gona go sleep with some1 unprotected (ESPECIALLY SOME1 LIKE CHARLIE SHEEN!!!) ya get what u get.. im not saying you DESERVE a death sentence for that kinda mistake, but its YOUR mistake to make..just like it was his.. whether from a partner or a needle.. your bad decision... im thinking he's ok with the consequences of his own actions.. he's accountable for him. you cant live ur life like that forever and NOT pay a price... like i said.. he hada good run
