  • you mean like Big Girls Don't Cry, Son of a Preacher Man, Stand by Your Man, Popsicle, Purple People Eater, El Paso, Streets of Laredo kinda stuff?  I'm more familiar with later 60's and 1970's music, though.  First record I ever bought was Western Union.  And after that probably Gary Puckett and the Union Gap.  I even bought Sen. Lloyd Dirsksen (sp) doing Brave, Gallant Men, and Snoopy Vs. the Red Baron.  And the album by Leonard Nimoy with Bilbo baggins.

getting back to Christmas Trivia, another easy question-

Who was the voice of the snowman in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer?

    Burl Ives...dur...hehe
  • yes!  Even looks like him!  jaybean, post a Christmas Trivia Question, please!

  • okay, sorry...  ha ha...  sorry...

I've always been hard of hearing- (not!)

    but it was *this* close!

And it has "Merry" and "Jolly"!

i thought you already gave that one away with the emeralds..
  • it was just on the other night  smiley

  • CHILLY, we've all heard of David Seville and the chipmunks christmas song, right? When the chipmunks cartoon was on, there we're other cartoon characters, or maybe I should say cartoon shows within, that would come on, in between the chipmunks. Hope you can see where I'm going with this. Can you name the other cartoon? It was a David Seville gig, and there we're 2 characters

  • yes!  Even looks like him!  jaybean, post a Christmas Trivia Question, please!

thanks...i will have to think of something. you guys are too good!
  • Ok, i think i might post a trivia question and get back in the groove..............

How many presents would you get total from "The Twelve Days of Christmas" if you received them all?

    Lips
  • gee, rr, not the chipettes- some kind of mad scientist with a time machine?  Got no clue.  But I remember shows like Run, Buddy, Run!  Captain Nice, and used to watch Red Skelton, Amos and Andy and The Jack Benny Show.  I think we need a new thread unless we are tying this in with Christmas, though.  Someone, please, ask a Christmas Trivia question-I'm brain dead today.

  • Thanks lips.... 78

In the 1965 TV special "A Charlie Brown Christmas", who builds a gray snowman?

  • must be pigpen.

  • Thanks lips.... 78

In the 1965 TV special "A Charlie Brown Christmas", who builds a gray snowman?
Ms. Froggy that answer gets the buzzard!!! Wrong!
  • 1+2+3+4 =10
    5+6+7+8 =26
    9+10+11 =30
    12        =12

    10+26+30+12=78

    why is that wrong?

Other than if *I* got them all, someone would steal them and I'd have zero?

  • To answer Lips question, it's 364. It took me a while to figure/count all of them. shocked

78 presents but gotta count how many times each gifts.

Trick is this, each day, her true love gave her a new presents, plus all the old ones again.

  • oh...yeah...I guess you're right!  duh  I've seen the tv news guys waste time saying how much all of the gifts cost.  Way too much, but I know they didn't even count them as being given everyday!  Got a new question for us?

    http://content.pncmc.com/live/pnc/microsite/CPI/2010/index.html

  • okay, here is a new question.

    What were Frosty's last words?

  • lol...

Is it getting hot in here or is it just me?

    jk

  • I'll be back again someday.

What is the name of Scrooge's dead business partner?

  • Lol,Chilly and thanks...

I can't believe that I actually read/play the whole story of the book with my little monkey, lol.

What is the name of Scrooge's dead business partner?

    Ugh,froggy...I don't remember and I don't want to cheat...

  • bones?  lol  jk again!  I'll wait awhile before I look it up.  someone surely knows (and don't call them shirley!)

  • chilly, so sorry for the late reply, family bussiness. and the answer is, THE PROFESSOR AND LEONARDO. AKA CLYDE CRASHCUP

  • I believe the answer to lips question is, Bob Marley, or Marley. excuse me, froggys' question

  • Ganga!  So *that's* who made all those Reggae records!  laugh_out_loud!!!!

JACOB Marley...but I think Marley by itself is a good enough correct answer!  Good job!

Here you go- What is a Christmas Club?

  • Ganga!  So *that's* who made all those Reggae records!  laugh_out_loud!!!!

JACOB Marley...but I think Marley by itself is a good enough correct answer!  Good job!

Chilly~~~you did it again...you made me laughing too hard that I almost wet my pant again...LMAO!!!

You know...something just dawned on me...I wonder, if you and I get together and get  drunk, what would be like!!! We'll probably in jail by doing all sorts of $^*@ when we wake up the next day...ha ha!
  • nan, I can see it now...it will look like that dancing santa and rudolph in your sig.
except maybe both of us will grow horns by the end of the night.

so, who knows what a Christmas Club is???

  • Let's see, A christmas club thingy is when you go to the bank with mommy every week, and give the bank a dollar, and at the end of 52 weeks, you have a whole bunch of money to buy christmas presents. or personal candy.
Sorry, can't think of another trivia question, right now. Just wakeing up, sunday morning. Still on my first cup of coffee.

nan chilly, if you 2 want to come out to CA, we'll get some alcohol, and some illegal drugs, and just sit down, do them, and see what occurs. I have an idea, but I better not post it.

  • Well, in my experience...a Christmas Club is something I started every year with Mom
and its intention was to put money in the bank every week so we would have money
and the end of the year for presents.  They give you a little coupon book, one for each week.
Well, mine always had the first coupon ripped out paid, and sometimes even the second.
But NEVER...did I EVER make it to the third.  Mom always said money burned a hole in my
pocket...some things never change. smiley  Merry Christmas Mom!!

  • Y'all got it right!

    Here's another one.

Why do Barnum's animal crackers have a string handle?

P.S. my dad said if someone put a hole in the wall I'd stick a nickel in it.  One word....slots!

  • The string handle was originally added so the box could be hung as a Christmas ornament and carried easily by young children.

When Buddy leaves the North Pole to find his father, to what city does he go to find him?

  • New York City!  (get a rope)

Why do candy canes have a hook on one end?

  • for us to hold the hook and eat? lol

  • Good guess although I hold the stick and hook my mouth like a fish.  But, nope.  Hint: it has something to do with one of the professions in the life of Jesus.

  • It was said that the cane was shaped like a "J" for Jesus. The red-and-white stripes represented Christ's blood and purity. The three red stripes symbolized the Holy Trinity. The hardness of the candy represented the Church's foundation on solid rock and the peppermint flavor represented the use of hyssop, an herb referred to in the Old Testament.

How long did it take Charles Dickens to write "A Christmas Carol"?

  • Wow.  That's a great answer.  TMI, though.  The answer I was looking for is so that it is shaped like a shepherd's staff.  But your answer was better.

I'm going to guess it took about 1/2 a day?

  • I'm going to guess it took about 1/2 a day?

    Guess again
  • Well I'll have to say, the darn internet says 2 weeks, 6 months, 9 years, etc....  so I'm still clueless but I'll say 1 1/2 months.

  • An unbelievable 6 weeks for this classic!!

What street was there a miracle...........

    Lips
  • 42nd street?  32nd street?  One of those.

  • for us to hold the hook and eat? lol

it is 1:32 right now, and i was just hitting the thank-you button on this, because i thought it was funny...i have been out all day.  just got home, and it said "you have already said
thank-you for this post at 12:47"  does anyone know what is up with that?????
  • jaybean's in the twilight zone!?
Maybe better ask Zuga how come his new design is a time-travelling mind-reading auto-posting naughty elf?

  • 34th st

  • for us to hold the hook and eat? lol

That has happened to me even under the old design. It will mostly happens when you click the thank you button twice. It is telling you in a way that you already thanked on the first click. I never paid attention to the time on it though.

Sometimes if i don't get this message i will actually give someone two tys at once.

    Lips
  • After I click on thank you, the option disappears.  However, when clicking Post sometimes, it just sits there and I click again and end up with two identical posts.  So, perhaps this is the same way with thank you buttons.  But the time difference is strange.
