Cocktails....beer...shots?

Hiya Members,

Spirits........cocktails.....beer...shots.....what is your favorite indulgence?

My favorite cocktail is a cosmopolitan.....thats a martini for those that don't know. 4 parts Kettle One...2 parts Triple sec....8 parts cranberry juice....ice....shake shake shake that tumbler.....no gentle stirring in this drink....pour...ahhhhh!!!!!

Friday nite.....and bbq's are my fav time to let my hair down!!!!!!

What is your favorite adult beverage?

I mix my own very refreshing...
take 16 oz. glass, first fill with ice, ...then fill with:
          1/4 fresh pomegranite juice,
          1/4 peach nectar,
          1/4 lemon selzer water
          fill the rest with favorite tequila or vodka
top with fresh prickly pear slices (which really are agave cactus flower, great for detox)  and/ or fresh lemon slices
     
I drink these instead of soda all the time without the alcohol for a good detox drink, or with the alcohol for a good all around summer drink.
   

  I dont drink them very often, but when I do, I enjoy them alot.
        LONG ISLAND ICE TEA.

It will cure what ails you!!

Oh Shelli this just reminded me of a funny story..

I went to the doctors, and told her those limes were killing me!!!

She was like, LIMES?? What LIMES??...I said the ones I put in my Vodka and Raspberry drink.  I think the citrus acid is killing me.

She SMACKED ME HARD in the head, and said, did you ever think it might be the alcohol?????

(never gave it a thought really...i still swear it was the limes, to this day i won't eat em)!!   I did have a bleeding ulcer, so MAYBE she was right, but...you never know..

Hold the limes for me too please!!

its got to be ukon jack straight up - and a shot of patron now and than doesnt hurt  But for anyone who likes bubble gum - there is a new vodka its called Tripple Olive  bubble flavor - its tastes just like bubble gum - a must try if you find it -

Patron be seems to be a fav....when i order a shot....its never nothing fancy....get right down to brass tacks and order a shot of patron!!

Some of the names of shots crack me up...on one ocassion at the club....a friend who can really pour on the drama with her sex kitten act when out clubbin and came up with a shot request that almost made me spit out my tequila shot from laughter!

She goes prissing to the bartender and says.....one Silk Panties please! For those that want to try it... here it is.......just don't ask your bf or hubby to order it for you...they might feel a tad less manly.........lmao!


1 shot of Peach Scnapps
1 shot of Vodka
shake and top off with a couple drops of grenadine

I think next time i go out with her...nothing foo foo for me ........one Dirty Silk Panties please...wink!

vodka and gatorade..yummmm

I mix and match different juices, but the peace nectar is the best, (or mango) and makes the best frozen margaritas too.

for beer, i usually go with lager from czech or bulgaria. some favourites right now though are: Red stripe from Jamaica, Estrella from spain and Punked from USA.

when it comes to wine. RED - i love zinfandel wines (california a big big producer) my fav wine is called gnarly head.
WHITE - i love wines from Alsache, France.

Whisky - one of my passions. i love single malt islay whisky. laphroaig and ardbeg as my favourites.

Rum - captain morgan or havanna club for drinks. angostura 1919, old matusalem and some other ooold dark rum are heaven.

Vodka - i almost only buy Stolichnaya.

for drinks, i have 3 favs.
mojito. heres one recipe:
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
Juice from 1 lime (2 ounces)
4 mint leaves
1 sprig of mint
Havana Club white Rum (2 ounces)
2 ounces club soda

Fidel castro
4 cl Havana Club dark rum
juice of 1/2 limes
fill with ginger ale
(i prefere ginger beer)

my 3rd is just stoli vodka with fresh squesed juice of any orange/lemon/grapefruit

Wow Patron.  You guys must really win at the casino.  That stuff is really expensive!
I tend bar, but am not a drinker.  They tell me it is really smooth.  We sell a shot of patron for $5.25 and a pint of beer for $2.00.

Yup that is what they tell me when I say that will be $5.25 a shot when they order.  I am in the burbs, but I'm told it is 7.00-8.00 a shot downtown.

Out here in Cali, we pay 8 bucks and it isn't even a shot!!!!   
They fill it just below the line......  I keep a bottle at home and have PLENTY of shots b4 I go out!!!!  hehe

I work every Friday, Sunday, and Monday and every other Saturday.  I am off tomorrow.

Try keeping a pair of shot glasses in the freezer for when the mood hits.
Pull out the shot glasses and top off with Patron... or if you want another top shelf Tequilla I love Cabbo Wabo (blue bottle is the Anejo).

If you love shooter's your going to really love what the iced glass does to these shots...

(Oh and two glasses are required cause you need to share.)

I got a weird drink order last night.  Older guys comes in and orders a sahara martini with olives and a twist.  I am thinking what is that?  I ask him if he means a dry martini?  (thinking sahara desert=dry).  He says yes.  It is half vodka, half gin, and dry vermouth.  OMG that must taste awful.  I made it, he drank it.

  I must say I have been enjoying my Rum and cokes lately

        I usually just drank beer at BBQ's but my brother turned me on to this drink, and it is yummy.!!!!

                                                         

Here is a drink i had this weekend at the bbq....it is really awesome!

Blue Lagoon

3 parts white rum
3 parts malibu rum
2 parts peach schnapps
2 parts blue curacao
Pineapple juice
ice

Today's drink for the Sunday's get together is gonna be wine. Making pasta indoors....since its cold out.......we are all hoping it warms up to sit outside.

The wine....Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir.......yum.

Hi Lips..this is one of my favs in the cold months!

Its a Hot Toddy, and it can vary depending upon your taste.

I personally like mine with Rum.

Here it is, but you can alter it to taste:

1 - 1 1/2 ounces of Whiskey, Scotch, Rum, or Brandy

1/4 Lemon Quarter

approx 1 oz. Honey

Hot Water

--------------------------------------------

Pour the honey into the bottom of a large Hot Toddy Glass, (or Large Mug)

Squeeze a quartered lemon into mug and leave in.

Add Beverage of choice; fill remaining mug with hot water.

There you have it!! Delicious!

This is a cocktail i love to have around the holidays!!

Hot Buttered Rum

1 oz light rum
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp butter
4 cloves

Add the sugar, butter and cloves to a coffee mug. Pour the rum, and stir well. Fill with boiling water. Stir again, and serve.

It is mm mm good!!!

Here is one for ya......

Santa's Shot

½ fl oz (12 ml) peppermint schnapps
½ fl oz (12 ml) green crème de menthe
½ fl oz (12 ml) grenadine

candy cane to decorate

1. Pour the grenadine in a shot glass.
2. Pour the green crème de menthe with a spoon gently so that it does not mix.
3. Top with peppermint schnapps. Place a candy cane and serve without stirring.

Whoa! lots of drinks!! Do you have a bloody mary drink with a new touch? i mean, is there another drink, or fruits or cloves, or anything that can be add up in the bloddy mary drink? hehehe

I like this one.......the dill gives it a good kick!!

Ingredients:

    1 quart good-quality tomato juice
    6 oz. Worcestershire sauce
    1 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice
    2 T Tabasco sauce
    1 T red pepper flakes
    1 T cracked black pepper
    1 t dried dill, or 2 t chopped fresh dill
    ¼ C grated fresh horseradish

Directions:
In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend for 1 minute. Use as needed. The mix will last for up to 2 days, covered and refrigerated.

Yield: 5 cups
