        Hiya Guys and Dolls,

With everything that is going on in our world and many threads on this area i am wondering..............

As we all know the government holds alot back from us. It is to prevent mass hysteria so they say. I am sure they know more than we ever could dream of.

If given the opportunity to know everything including Top Secret info that is detrimental to our planet and our lives would you really want to know.

Do you want to know if there is really a smarter intelligence then us or that they know the exact day and time a meteor is going to hit earth or when the end of time is?

Or do you feel that it's best the government keeps this information away from the public?

In my humble opinion, the more people know and the longer they have to get used to the "idea" of what they know, the easier things will be whenever whatever happens.

That sounds a bit "round the houses" and I hope it gets across what I'm trying to say.

I personally would prefer to know everything.

We have the right to know. Who are they to decide how much knowledge we should have. We have a good idea anyway whats going on. I am a believer in a higher form of intelligence. Not just the Government but the Vatican knows plenty.

It depends if the majority of the public like a government's leader, if so, secrets are ok.  If not, people tend to demand to know every little detail (and how much did it cost).

        Lips! Awesome question!

Sounds just like the 2012 trailer. what if the govt knew this would happen and what would they tell 6 billion people? They wouldn't and frankly, that's a good reason as I believe civil unrest would engulf the world.

"We're going to die in 3-5 years, so what does it matter if I commit offenses? I'll be dead soon" Lawlessness would break out, people murdered, raped, and abused. The law would no longer exist

Like when the cops (In Montreal Canada) went on strike and soon your average normal citizen was stealing what they could. Such would be everywhere on the planet.

So yes, I'd rather not have everyone know this. But you can tell me, I can keep a secret!

Whether it's secret or not, I think we have right to know  even if it's not all good means...
it's always better to prepare with knowledge than finding out while or after dealing with a disaster.

What makes them privileged? We live in the same world and have a right to know all that goes on as it pertains to us. For all they know, one of us could have the answer.

If we were clued in from the beginning, there would be no fear of the unknown and mass chaos.
I personally want to be in the know.

I think that it is best not to know. And i couldn't agree more with gene as to why we shouldn't know. The Governments can make some pretty bad decisions in governing our land but when it come to this they may have the right idea.

There would be complete and utter chaos. It is like without religion in our lives and believing in God. Religion keeps us civil and instills right in wrong in many people.

Fear is a powerful thing and can make us do crazy things. Ironically the fear can be two fold. Fear as in religion makes us stand up and fly right to get through the pearly gates. Fear of some impending doom can create mayhem.
