Hiya LCB'ers,
Does size really matter? Now now, i know what your thinking!! I'm not talking about that kind of size........i'm talking about height!!!
There is basically 3 types of heights......short, medium and tall! I fall in the short category at 5' 1". And i have to admit sometimes i do suffer from short girl syndrome! I do have my feisty moments that although im short i can bark just like the big dogs!!
Heels are my best friend! I can walk around with 4 " heels and feel just like the average bear! But i have been known to hear comments once they come off and people will say..."no way" to "wow i had no idea you were that short"!!
How tall are you? Are you happy with your height and are you attracted to someone who is just the opposite of what you are or prefer someone your height?

I feel ya Lips.. i'm 5'5" my daughter is 5'4" 1/2.. sometimes i'd go through.. i wish i was a little taller.. or i wish i was a little shorter and she does too, so even being at my height or her height just not happy with it, if i were 5'9" i'd probably wish to be shorter.. if i were 5' i'd wish to be taller, so which height would be the perfect height i'd be happy with, i have no idea lol.
As far as, im attracted to taller men, i love the 5'10 range and higher, i dated someone my height once and for some odd and strange reason i did not feel secure with him.. the tallest i dated was 6'8" loved it.. lol -

Well, I am 5'8" Which is just fine with me. Like Lips, I LOVE my heels, but I don't wear anything higher than 3" because I think 6' is TOO tall. lol
My FAVORITE height for a guy is 6'3" it just seems to fit me perfect, I'm not sure if it is cuz I feel safe or what. lol My current boyfriend is 5'6" which normally I would think is too short. But the first time I saw him, he was boxing and knocked some1 out with just 1 punch, I think the "feeling safe" wasn't an issue anymore. lol I think he is the shortest guy I dated, the tallest was in JR College 6'10" he was so dang tall that he could actually jump over me! lol -

hi girls...and gentlemen...me im 5'7 that pretty tall for the normal asian girl...i guess. so always taller then lots of my friends which moslty were non asian. so i loved it. i wear heels at night. for me and many girls it makes us walk, feel, and look hot ...flip flop when sun is up, plus i live in san diego...open toes all year. i agree with if i was shorter i would then want to be taller and vise versa. we always wish and want. but if he/she dont like it then someone else will honey. ive learn to live and love myself. women love taller GENTLEMEN but if they are shorter thats OK too as long as they are A GENTLEMEN. ive dated and doned a little of everything, so to each its own. OHH but i LOOOOVE a manly MAN...especially in bed. and yes he is not always that "tall".

There's a great saying "Good things come in small packages" ;D
I'm a short 5'2" and I will not be seen without my high heels either, although my legs are as long as my friend's who is 5'6". My husband is a massive 6'8" tall and I feel like a little elf next to him. I prefer tall men, always have.
I did go out with short man once and I just couldn't hack it so 6 feet or over is good for me.

I will harken to some studies on height. Most studies conclude that tall people advance/ get promoted/ get jobs in a better fashion than short people. Case in point: With I believe two exceptions, the tallest candidate has always won the race for US President. CEOs in general are NOT short people.
Now, this does not mean short people have horrible lives, but cream-of-the-crop positions in life tend to favor the "tall category."
These studies also show similar bias regarding fat and skinny people. -

I am 5'3" tall and I have always dated men that are taller than me. It just happened that way. It really doesn't matter how tall he is. It is more important to me that he is kind, and has a sense of humor. My X-fiance' was an electrical engineer was 6'2. I found out he cheated and made him feel like 4 ft. tall-LOL. It is always the inside that matters to me.

These qualities are what counts most. Kindness and a sense of humor will win over any height!
runs in family I guess but weird cuz my almost 21 year old brother is now 6'4" and o yes, he is a hunk...
A hunk huh? I might consider being a cougar...he he he!!!Great words of wisdom and oh so true! Esp the part where your mind don't work. As long as everything else is in good working order!!
the tallest was in JR College 6'10" he was so dang tall that he could actually jump over me! lol
6'10"!!!!! Wow he could dribble me as a basketball!! I think i better move to Cali!Good things do come in small packages!!!! I'm sure that tall hubby of yours agrees!
Now, this does not mean short people have horrible lives, but cream-of-the-crop positions in life tend to favor the "tall category."
And from the looks of these responses the cream of the crop tall guys like the short chickies!!!

when there's a spark between 2 persons, i do not think that size matters. actually, love conquers everything cuz when you're in love, your mind doesnt work at all. you'll always follow your heart when you are in love.

This was a very, very interesting question. Thanks, Lips! I went back and did some reading on the subject. There have been several studies that note taller people get "more." (Larger salaries, more opportunities, etc.)
But....there is more evidence that being overweight will "cost" you in society. The "Cellulite Ceiling" rules. -

Well I am 5'71/2" and I think that is average. I have always been happy with my height except when I was in school and seemed to always be taller than the other girls. My husband however is only 5'6" so I never wear heels since he is a little sensitive about me being taller than him. It has never bothered me, you can't help who you fall in love with. I always dated taller guys, 6' at least but then I met my husband and that was it.

I am 6 foot 6 but the funny thing is that I’ve been this tall since I was 16(I’m 27 now). I use to play competitive sports and I remember other teams asking for my I.d because they thought I was much older. I don’t mind being really tall but I rather be average height or closer to 6 feet. I guess you can say that I am attracted to shorter women but it doesn’t really matter unless their taller than me then. Nothing wrong with really tall women just not my thing.

I too am quite short, 5 '3''. In my country, Serbia, people are very tall, women are 5'7'' on average (that is considered the shorter end of the scale, I kid you not), so I am basically a dwarf here.
My height, or lack of, bothers me a lot to be honest. Being tall, people here are very judgemental and look down on us shorties like we're contagious or something. I've been called midget, dwarf, hobbit, shorty, pint-sized you name it, highschool was the worst.
I am regularly the smallest person wherever I go. I wear heals pretty much all the time. It got a little better as I got older, since I stopped caring so much, but it's hard living in a country where height is such an important stat.

I suppose like a lot of things personal taste and preference is decisive in terms of which height is best.
I am sorta tall at six foot. My wife is petite...which I like.
I am happy with my own height.
I suppose in some areas of life height is more important than in others
I read that overweight people face employment discrimination in hiring for instance.
Who knows if height is a factor in this regard as well?
But there must be other areas of life where height does matter in a specific, concrete and practical manner.
For example, you probably won't make the cut in the NBA if you are short.
But there are exceptions to every rule, like Muggsy Bogues and Spud Webb, to name just two very short pro basketball players.
