I guess it's no surprise, but researchers are making it official.

The research was conducted on 84 dogs and they wanted to see if dogs had a "flexible understanding" that could show they understood the viewpoint of a human. They found that when the lights were turned off, dogs in a room with their human owners were much more likely to disobey and steal forbidden food.

The study says it is "unlikely that the dogs simply forgot that the human was in the room" when there was no light but it seems as though the dogs were able to differentiate between when the human was unable or able to see them.

Do you have any examples to support this theory?

I had a cat and I know that she would do whatever she wanted no matter the circumstances.

My good friend has an American Staffordshire and I can't imagine him doing anything without her permission.

I don't say that these results are wrong but just that I don't know much about dogs.

I believe this 100%. Dogs get into all the bad stuff when you're not looking. Dog don't usually do it right in front of us. OMG and cats, oh they are something else aren't they Mark. Doesn't matter where you are they're gonna do whatever they please. Gotta love the little fur balls.

I love cats. I know plenty of people who despise them and I don't get it. Sure they are stuck up, temperamental, cocky, determined, spiteful, appear to be deaf and downright selfish but when they decide it's time to give you attention, it's the best feeling.
