Kathmandu, Nepal (CNN)A 7.8 magnitude earthquake centered less than 50 miles from Kathmandu rocked Nepal with devastating force early Saturday, killing at least 806 people -- and probably more -- in Nepal's capital city, authorities said.

Afterwards, historic buildings in Kathmandu lay in rubble. The injured wound up being treated outside hospitals in chaotic scenes. Residents, terrorized by a seemingly endless series of aftershocks, huddled outdoors for safety.

Ago a few days was a campaign in Romania on how to protect ourselves in case of earthquake, I do  think it has nothing to do with this tragedy  and she is just a coincidence.

Yes, sad indeed. I wonder what the final death toll will be. Last update was over 2200 so far.

Yes it is a terrible tragedy, I was thinking that if we can not help them materialist, we can do it with a good word. It shows that are close to them and that I'm really sorry for what happened there.

That's really sad and sickening. I don't understand the need to fake news in such circumstances.

congrats to Pokerstars for taking action once again by giving the opportunity to its players to donate a sum. there are many players that play high stakes so imagine how much meds could be brought from only one big blind alone!

This is a very good thing and should we as citizens to donate an amount of money no matter how much but it is important to be more citizens who donate.

I have been thru a 7.3 earthquake, in 1989, "The World Series" quake in the San Francisco area.  It was terrifying, and every aftershock sends your heart into your throat.  Compared to Nepal, tho, we didn't lose that many people.  Although it took me a few years, it was the reason I left California.

Still, I can't look at any of the pictures of the Nepal quake.  It brings back too many memories and feelings.  I will be donating,

The earthquake from Nepal was devastating. The deaths overcomes 5000 souls and still growing this number. It's really a tragedy for those families who lost loved people.  I heard some organizations started campaigns for raising money and food for people from Nepal. I wish hope and blessing for Nepal's people!

It's tragic what happened to the Nepalese. Indeed earthquake can kill. Many children remained orphaned. This is saddest.
